  1. I thought I’d cast a few parts that have taken a bit of work as there are a few more 10 series that I’d like to do, so bonnet, front grill, cab roof and diesel tank replicated

  2. I obviously couldn’t work out my measurements that well a few years ago! I thought the proportions weren’t just right, and after a few conversations with Ben (Fendt Farmer) we worked out that the bonnet and chassis was about 10mm too long, so out came the Dremel! The Ertl cab also needed a bit of work around the rear pillars, and also the mudguards have a raised edge which I’ve added along with the steps, and a start on the front grill

  4. It's been a while since I had a spend on a model since Covid hit but Brian was up at the Wray tractor meet and he just happened to have a 272 Synchro with wide wheels and front weight about him so it was rude not to add it to the collection whilst I was there.....

  5. Scaledown T3 When looking at the Scaledown catalogue of tractors the Farmall A was a model I always passed by. Recently I have been watching Pete on the Youtube ‘A few Acres Farm’ series. I enjoyed his use of vintage tractors and equipment and boy does he like the Farmalls. So I was tempted to get the Scaledown model. I know International started assembling the Farmall M models in Doncaster in 1948 and I was wondering why Scaledown did the Model A rather than it, was any of the Model A’s send to Britain during WWII?

  6. Another absolute cracker John, a favourite of mine also and it’s also on the cards one day! If you’d ever part with a bonnet kit I’d be very interested We run a 64 & 6800 at home both from new, no 10 series though! Skipped that generation to a 69 and 7920!

  7. I'm new to farm models really. A couple of months ago, I just got an urge and condensed my Model Aircraft collection, freeing up a shelf in my cabinet. I had been looking at photos I had taken over the past few years and came across the one below and wondered if anyone did a model combine like that in my photo and similarly the tractor. The Fendt Vario was the easy one to find. The New Holland combine not so easy, It's not a like for like to my photo, though it is close enough. I found mine on Ebay, brand new in the box. I think like many, I am a little disappointed the bin doesn't open up, but I'm impressed with the quality of the model. I've most recently acquired a MarGe New Holland T8 and am on the look out for a Vaderstad Rapid 600 or Vaderstad Carrier or Horsch Cultivator to recreate another scene. I know they've been done in 1/32, but they're not recent models

  11. Another build from several years ago, this started out as an Ertl 6410 and a Siku 6920 chassis, but then just sat as a pile of bits (it’s not alone there!) Anyway, I’m trying to have a sort out of unfinished builds so I thought I’d pick this up again as I’ve always had a soft spot for the 69’s. Using the Siku frame it became apparent that the wheel/cab/bonnet levels just didn’t sit right, so it was butchered and the rear end built from scratch. Hopefully it shouldn’t take too long to finish and should make a good mate for the 64.

  12. A Newbern Power Frame! Great to see you building one of these John, that looks ace. Wrote about this one for the 200th issue of Classic Tractor Magazine. It's still being used by a good friend of mine.

  14. Farmall Model A I asked earlier if any of the Model A’s were send to Britain during WWII? I thought would be some IH historians out there but no so I had to do my own research. I found that only Ford and David Brown built tractors in Britain during WWII and America’s ‘big 9’ shipped theirs from the USA including the Farmall A. Anyway Model A completed, painted and decals added. A very unusual tractor with its wheel spacing giving what Farmall called ‘Cultivision’

  19. Thanks. I've been looking on Ebay for the Vaderstad Rapid and Carrier. I did see a Horsch cultivator a few weeks back, but at the time did not realise that it was something I had seen on the back of the T8. I had been so used to seeing it with a Sumo Trio 4.5 behind it and it was only after I saw my photo again, that I realised they had a Horsch too.

  28. The base model is a Massey Ferguson 1014 from Weise toys. i made the wheelbase correct by cutting the chassis in two. the back fenders were modifed to. the cabin is the original from the 1014 with other side windows. the interior was put in the correct color and some details were added. the hood was 3D printed. the full model was repainted in the correct colors and the correct decals ware added. on one picture you can see my 699 and 698 togheter.

  40. I found an old set of Britains discs that were quite badly damaged, but the more I looked at them the more I thought they were salvageable, so after a bit of repair work, adding a little extra detail and some weathering, I’ve ended up with these

  43. Busy season is almost upon us and the farm is ready for the challenges ahead, the new Lexion 6900 gets it PDI monday from the team from Manns and our first rapeseed should be fit to cut by the end of next week. Weve hooked up one of the Pumas to do the carting and the other 175 will be on standby for the start of wheat harvest the week after when two trailers are required. Our friends over at PHR in Essex tracked down a superbly conditioned Fendt 820 with only 6000 hours on the clock. It received a damn good polish and resprayed red rims and almost looks new. Its already on the fleet alongside our Gen 3 716 and will do mostly odd jobs, yard work and fetch and carry. Its sat on the front of the Claas cutterbar trailer now and will remain there for most of harvest. The 716 will be on bale hauling for a while until our 720 has finished its spring/ summer spraying commitments in a week or two. The new 724 arrived last week and went straight on the round baler doing hay before going into some wheat fields. The 936 has been hooked up to our Claas big baler for the next couple of months instead of the JD 6250R which did a good job last year. The 936s superior speed between jobs on the road will increase efficiency. The 6250 has switched onto the Amazone big sprayer whilst the maize rapidly grows and our 6215 has dropped onto the digestate sprayer for a couple more weeks. We are still a tractor short when the pressure is really on and I will be considering my options in the 200hp plus catagory. Both TNS and Doubledays have some decent 2nd hand stock and Im told their might be an ex demo tractor or two available soon as new 2021 models are due in soon.
