  1. if you look in the scrathbuilt tractors section and look for a topis called scrathbuilt models, my dad has built a hesston swather.... Might give you some inspiration! Cheers
  2. NO tips as such becuase its a learning curve every time we use it! Id say use a good quality glue, but not superglue till you get used to the medium! As for bending, use something to bend it round ie pencil etc, works a treat! Cheers
  3. FAO james f,.............................................yep!
  4. I use a decal paper that my local model shop used to have but now i buy off ebay. you print all what you need, and then seal it with a special sealant liquid, and then you can cut them and slide them on as per water decals. I use MS Publisher to make the shapes etc, its hard but i get on with it. I just use a cheap printer thats bloody good! Ill take some pics of the valtra tomorrow, as im there, its a N121 model, so its a baby one.
  5. Just the stuff on cornflake packets... A sharp knife/blade helps no end
  6. Yeah there defo made of card! To be honest most of them you cant tell they are card you would be hard pushed to tell if they were'nt die cast or not.... Thanks for the comments!
  7. So here is the service van im doing now, but in 1/32nd scale. The first 2 pics are the model, and the decals ive made from scratch, and the second is the actual van. Enjoy!
  8. Thanks for all the positve comments, there great. Ive started to do the S.T. GOWAN (who dad works for) 1/32nd Transit now, and if i dare say so, the decals are coming on strong, ill take a pic of the decals and the van so you can see! FAO the deere hunter, i live in Burton arctually,. so im a stones throw away from you! Whats your surname, and do you farm? Steve
  9. there only brushed paint....but the correct colours. I tend to do conversions on cars and vans at the mo, like the Valtra dealer one above, but im going to "branch out", and do more farm machinery. I need to know if the bonnets on the UH Valtra models lifts up, and can you get 1:32nd? Cheers!
  10. The good thing about that type of cardboard is that its fairly bendy and strong too, and i assume plasticard is just the same, but cardboard we use is cheaper, plus 9 times out of 10 they have food in them!!!! Cheers
  11. Thnaks for all the positive comment folks, really appriciated! He is venturing into the plasticard world now i think he has seen enough inspiration on here to pull his finger out, he has a trailed pea viner, and a few other rare things up his sleeve! I tend to scratchbuild too, but at the mo ive done this in 1:43rd, and my next version is a Britains 1:32nd transit.. Unfortunatly the real one isnt on the drive tonight, someone is borrowing it! My dad works for a Valtra dealer in Driffield, in the oarts department. He used to work for a big massey dealer, and before that a fiat and track marshall dealer, in our region too also in parts....blah blah!
  12. Here are a few of my dads models he has built out of nothing but cardboard that you get on cornflake packets etc.... They were done in about 90-96, so we didnt know about plasticard etc.. Ill let you all have a look then ill go in depth with a few afterwards, there not brill by the standard of things on here but you can tell what they are! (all in 1:32nd by the way!) And the 4880 is work in progress from about ummmmm 6 years ago! Hope you all like them, my fave is the Track Marshall TM200, pre-production colours, well its a 200 BHP version sorry, and the grey and yellow like my avatar is the 210bhp version...blah blah... Cheers!
