  2. After the recent rain my rape stubbles was greening up so I have been running though them with the pluton
  3. Also while the tree-huggers was around Sean discussion the tree I cut down we nipped back and got the root out
  4. Whilst my mate was on the digger I started the job of moving about 400 tons of topsoil onto a very stiff/clay headland so hopefully it will improve it I did 23 loads in a ten ton trailer yesterday and have about the same again to move but rain stopped play again
  5. As it has been dry for a couple of days I thought we had better start making a mess so got my mate back for a couple of days to drive digger and spread out the spoil that came out of the ditch we cleaned out over the winter . Had to get tractor mounted straw chopper out to chop first two rows as big balers did not turn up before the rain last week
  6. will have to nip down to Mr Wongs for a curry later on and get him to translate it you never now it could be ET calling home
  7. Myself and the wife went out to the local curry house on Saturday night with Mr Goodwin and his delightful wife for a well earned meal/break from work and he gave me two of these limited edition notepads , the wife said the pages are big enough to write down he grocery shopping list on hopefully she has forgotten about them as I have slipped them into my collection
  8. As we have had 55mm of rain since last Tuesday land work has come to a halt ,so a house holder next to my farm asked if I could do anything with his conifer tree that was planted in 1966 he has trimmed it a few times over the years but just got to big so one chainsaw one JCB and job half done got to nip back with mini-digger and dig around the root and pull out
  9. Ella's farm yard with barn like mine and real wheat and straw that get spread all over the floor
  10. My youngest granddaughter was up farm today when I called in to refill the tractor Ella and her mum come over to say hello , now Ella is only 2 years old and she knows the difference between the tractor and a teleporter anyway she goes a bit shy with me but her mum was getting her to tell me about my son ,Ella's father as last night he was on ebay bidding on JOAL TX 34 New Holland Combines as she wants one as that is what her granddad (me) has got well he was outbid 3 times last night then he called her over to look as he thought he had found one more ,well it was yellow and it was a combine but she soon told him it was wrong so he said he would look again tonight . Well I have a few of them as if I see one I normally have to go and buy it if I am at a toyfair so of I went to my secret store and got one out and put it in a bag and went back around the farm as she was then feeding the chickens I called her to say I had a present for her well you should have seen her face when she saw what it was her mum was screaming with joy as well , Ella forgot about being shy she gave me a high 5 just had some pictures come though she has cut the lounge carpet a dozen times tonight bless her . cant believe I give one of my prized models away think I had better go and lay down for a while , thinking about its a excuse to nip away to toyfair and get a replacement
  11. You have done a lovely job there , I don't now a lot about these engines but you have changed the colour scheme do you prefer the green or do the colours mean something like the steam railway engines when the big 4 of them was running
  12. I am no expert but if the models was in separate boxes I would say give or take around the £25 mark each so unless that box is rare I would say £50-£60 ,I would offer £40 and see
  13. These two binders and the pile of paper at the front covers every thing on my MXU 135 Case tractor including part no
  14. And 3 dealers workshop manuals that cover my TX34 ,one has diagrams and part no on all the replacement parts, belts and chains which hopefully I wont have to look at to often but just might be handy one day
  15. The other sunday morning because it was a wet one I went with Mr Goodwin over the border and into Norfolk as he had arranged to view someone's collection of brochures and manuals which they would like to move on so I picked up a operators manual for my TX34 combine I do have one but I thought a spare one might be handy ,also a book on welding and cutting with gas , a winter service check procedure for combines , a brochure on my TX34 , and a service training manual which covers product improvements on forage harvesters, round balers , rectangular balers , and combines between 1986-1987
  16. On Saturday myself and the wife and my mate that live in the log cabin that I helped to build just a few 100 meters away from my farm bailed and carted and stacked in the shed approximately 1000 small bales I had the 4240 and grab in the field to load my trailer my mate was on JCB and wife on McCormick and trailer so we could take to part loads back to farm only did part loads then we did not have to rope them on as we cut across the field back to farm where my mate reached in shed as far as he could then me and wife stacked by hand , Mr Prescott was on hand for a little while and he did climb up on stack to help stack , I did say get down JEP but he insisted on helping thanks John
  17. As it was wet last Saturday my mate came up and we laid a chipboard floor over the top of existing floor ,hung on the wall some second hand kitchen cupboards and placed some filling cabinets on other wall as I am going to store my farm machinery operators manuals , spraying records , and other farm related paperwork in them together with my brochures that I have collected , still a bit to finish of in there but got to get farm work done first , think the cat likes being in there as I fitted it a cat flap the other day so it can wander in and out when it likes
  18. No not a Cat Challenger but my late mothers cat as it has had a 4 bedroom bungalow all to its self over the last year
  19. over last few months myself and a good mate have been meeting up at the farm to sort/clear out part of my shed that I just used to bung everything into had lots of spare parts for tractors and machines that left the farm years ago so we have been entering them in a few collective farm sale that have been happening over last few weeks still got more to sort later on in the year but the part we have done is now big enough to house my CAT
  20. Thanks John really good to have got you down this way for the harvest as we have been talking about it for last 2or 3 years now , bit of a rush in the end but really me and Julie loved you company over a fantastic meal last night Thanks Again
