I was reading in a farm toy magazine that UH was planning to release a 1/16 scale version of the Ferguson tractors used in the South Pole exploration. I can't find anything on their web site though.... anyone have details on the release of this? Thanks!

Just a quick update; I finally got one of these for my collection! A co-worker went down to PA to visit Dakota Toys over the holiday weekend and picked one up for me (along with a MF-embroidered camo hat )! I am very happy with it! Thanks for all the input guys!

Good points? Coming from my last tractor there are a lot...too many to list, but if I had to pick a few I like being able to shift through the gears without the clutch via the = and - buttons on the range selection lever. Not having to clutch to shuttle from forward to reverse is pretty good as well...with my left ankle the way it is, you can see why not having to use the clutch are currently high on my list! The full cab is awesome as well; I'm sure I'll appreciate it when I plow snow this year. Having AC is something I hadn't really thought much about before, but Sunday (which was extremly muggy) I mowed and area for some Christmas trees for an hour and then got out of the cab to adjust the height of the mower for another area my glasses actually fogged up! A lot more power; 4 cylinders vs. 3; bigger bucket, etc. what's not to like? My only issue is I have a few implements (snowplow, and forks) that were made to fit with my old tractor using the Massey pin-style quick attach; now I've switched to the skid-steer style quick attach, which I know will be best in the long run as it's more universal, but it forces me to change what I currently have...no big deal; just need the time to do it! As far as a name...well, we called the old tractor "Fergy"...but we haven't come up with anything for this one yet. Suggestions anyone?

I finally drove my new tractor this weekend! We harvested our pitiful pumpkin patches (very wet weather all summer long killed most of our plants); I drove the tractor while my wife and 5 year-old daughter loaded the bucket (as it should be... ) I tried to get out and help, but I am still needing a cane to get around and the uneven terrain is still very much a challenge for me to negotiate. I hope that I am fully healed come November when I begin hunting... :'( But at least for now, I can drive! Hooking up implements is tough work as well for the moment, but I can work around it. The wife took photos on Saturday and when she goes to work tomorrow she will e-mail them to me so I can post them up.

Just took delivery of a new Massey Ferguson 1552.... 0.2 hours on it!

Well, I took delivery of my new tractor on Friday afternoon. I had my camera ready to go as I wanted to take some shots of it being unloaded and shots of my "old" 1433 being loaded. Camera wouldn't work. My dealer waited for me to change batteries...nothing! My wife had her digital camera (her's is the new one; I got her hand-me-down) with her and she wasn't home yet. No matter... we'll take some photos one night this week! Anyway...everything went smoothly. The tractor arrived with 0.2 hours on it; that's about as factory fresh as you can get! My dealer went over everything with me, pointing out the differences from my 1433, etc. He is a great guy; he stayed for a couple of hours and we talked all about Masseys, Fendt's, Agco, etc. I found out that he has collected farm toys since he was a kid and having grown up in a family owned form tractor dealership business, he has a ton of them. He also told me how he has sold some Massy's to you chaps across the pond! As far as playing with it; I haven't even driven it yet. As I mentioned, I tore a tendon in my ankle last December and I finally had surgery to repair it on August 13th. I had all sorts of complications, pain meds that didn't do it for me, infection requiring two rounds of antibiotics, etc. I just had the cast removed on the 11th of this month and while I can put some weight on it, I can't really do much yet...including driving my tractor. It's killing me to see it sit there, but I'm using the time to go through my manuals completely. I'm hoping to be able to use it this coming weekend. Pictures will follow ASAP I promise!

You can say that again! I've been out of the tractor seat too long...I had surgery a little over a month ago to repair a torn tendon in my ankle and the cast comes off tomorrow morning. Hopefully, I will be able to depress a clutch pedal on Friday!

Ahh! I should have known...I don't get on here as often as I'd like so I am not familiar with all the folks. I will send a PM. So, will you be supplying the PDC and UH baler photos or do I get them from Paul as well?

No one makes a MF small square baler I assume? That's what I'd really like to see...

I thought there was a review for this baler here at one time...? I'm looking to get one and wanted to re-read the review. Any comments from folks that do own one? Thanks!

I am taking delivery of a new 1552 MF with factory cab, Dyna-Q trans, and front end loader this Friday! I wasn't planning to upgrade for a while but everything just sort of fell together. MF is offering 0% financing up to 60 months on the 1500 series plus $750 cash back. I received almost the entire amount that I paid for my 1433V 6 years ago towards the trade. With my daughter starting kindergarten and us not having to pay daycare anymore, it didn't take too much thinking to take some of the money we will be saving and apply it to new tractor payments while the deal is so good. Anyway, it's not big farm equipment, but for our small operation (25 acres) it is going to work just great for us!!!
