  1. In between cow feeds and moving sheep I was messing about with the tines from the spud lifter-rower which Walterderwent previously helped identify (thanks David!_) and some sore knuckles to prove it.
  2. Is that wall made using aquarium gravel? I did something similar a while back.It makes quite an effective slate wall you might see in Devon, Wales Yorkshire etc
  3. Does the boss mind you standing around snapping away?
  4. Yes though I think he's got the smaller scrapers lined up to drive before any newbie touches his prescious metal! Thanks. I have mixed emotions on this; It's a world away from the PT work I do at the little mixed/beef unit I've been with, I was only just getting to know those guys! :'( I would, however, be getting paid, and finally some tractor work!
  5. Thanks Sean. There are at least 16 other applicants though I have no idea what the competition is like. He said he'll ring me this weekend.
  6. Thanks Tris. Its as a general herdsperson and possible apprentice milker plus other general maintenance jobs. Forgot to ask about the size of the farm ha/acre-wise ( ) but he has some 180 animals in total. Most of these are restricted to the farm as he has had a bovine TB outbreak. The parlour is small and cramped with two lines of 14 ?stalls. I got a brief glimpse of some of the machinery: 1 international 2wd; 1 Case-IH or it may have been a DB/Case (90/94 series); 2 scraper Fords (manual box); 2 JCB telehandlers, one slightly bigger than the other; two big new tractors one of which I'm sure was a JD 6930, and many more besides (most residing in the repairs shop). No Masseys alas I asked if the Loadalls had hydrostatic transmission, he said no but something similar -"torque converters"-is that right?
  7. Job interview with a dairy farmer. Possibly life changing event (or not) if I get it \
  8. Thanks Paul et al this could be useful for Ebay photos.
  9. Just the whole money thing is getting to me, my bank is charging me overdraft fees (£45!) for going £1.80 over my limit for 3 days over christmas plus HMR&C think I owe them NIC of around £300 (I don't!) :'(
  10. Please post some more Youtube videos if & when you can spare the time Mark, I want to hear Hattie come to life again!
  11. BC does the 135 cab have the front glazing only? If so the cab should fit, with the muledozer lever going through the lower window in the cabin.
  12. The 8340 I learnt on had this feature it's so useful. I'm not sure why it t so long for other manufacturers to go the same route ? \
  13. Treat it gently Rich, this happend to a Star when its hitch ring snapped: http://www.fwi.co.uk/assets/getAsset.aspx?ItemID=3806811
  14. You work that 362! That's a cosy little Britains setup, keep the updates coming.
  15. I like the pickup you have on the JF 800 forager
  16. I put my back out attempting to free a trapped car, now I can hardly bend at all
  17. Besides the usual cow feed/muck, I helped gather up two sheep to take to slaughter. This required taking the livestock trailer across snow fields '& down (frozen) tracks and inevitably the series 3 landrover found itself almost 'hull down' in a giant puddle. we needed 2 chains, 2 shackles, 1 David Brown and 20 minutes of idiocy t pull it out. All good experience tho
  18. Dipping into this topic a while ago I thought "Harry" was a pet name for your tractor, and you would occasionally take him on an 'outing', but something seemed amiss when you tried teaching Harry to say his first words..
