  1. Echo the other sentiments here, I know you were close to your pa Bill and it's affirming he had such a long and rich life. I'm still recovering from the loss of a client who has died at the age of just 60 (although she looked much younger), due to returning cancer.
  2. Fastrac 2135 and 3 tonne Marshal tipper visiting a local farm; JD 7530 Premium parked up.
  3. Repairing a wall and digging out a bank/adding hardcore for a concrete base.
  4. Morning spent strimming, mowing, cutting and digging for a client, then back home to attempt (unsuccessfully) to prise a tyre from its rim.
  5. Hahhah braindead Bob wielding the chainsaw like a zombie!!
  6. Bloody strong arm he's got, watch out! Great topic to follow and crisp photos as well.
  7. 2 Dewalt axle stands, 1.5 metre chisel/crowbar and some strimmer cord.
  8. Thinking about applying for temporary work on a 240ac mixed farm, even though I've got garden maintenance work coming out of my ears which is also paying well.
  9. White top 40-series Ford (looked like an 83) with a flat roll
  10. Met a one-time boss who said he had 15 foot of land drain pipe spare from a job, just the amount I've been looking for.
  11. Corgi JCB 4cx, pulled out of the earth while I was gardening.
  12. Big Volvo tractor unit with a 40 foot low loader trying to turn in the tiny lane I was working along, miles off course. No sat nav to blame either!
  13. I hate that, as if it doesn't take long enough to pick through listings already! Why Ebay seem so desperate to ruin a once easy to use auction site is beyond me. Customers and sellers will go elsewhere.
  14. Cutting down an old lilac tree then cutting it and other branches into logs, digging out a hebe with a mattock, ridging 9 rows of potatoes (again with a mattock), followed by a spot of de-stoning and weeding.... and then wishing I hadn't
  15. Breaking in the new brushcutter and cleaning and sharpening the chainsaw, ready for next week. Also pulling up a bit of thatch and scattering seed in the field below.
  16. Ouch Robert! I've been planting Desiree potatoes for a client. Would have been sitting on an old onion planter for a mate but potato lady called first.
  17. That's a shame Bob, it must have seemed pretty enticing until he mentioned the wage! If money wasn't an issue I would be pushing for employed farm work full-time if I could, but I can make more working for myself.
