now this may create a curve ball , but yesterday i saw a 2wd JCB Fastrac ? any ideas ? it was hitched to a 2 wheel dump trailer working on a private housing development plot, so if you are running on the A484 from Carmarthen to Newcastle Emlyn please keep an eye out & please tell me i'm either right or wrong in what i saw \

i think the A4.236 was probably MF's / perkins most adaptable engine . was used on tractors such as the 168, 565,575, 265 675,698t etc............ the 675 was powered by the A.,236 & when the 698T came around the decision to use the 236 was because of it's better cooloing properties than that of the A4.248 A4.3182 engine's got to remember a 236 was also boosted to 1000hp on the MF works stock tractor puller , the 265 nipper

good going fred , nice to see some of the lesser known makes being done & the cab really suits it actually ! britains 362 floorpan & cab & bonnet ? britains 595 chassis ? ROS wheels ? seen a few ursus tractors about mainly on stock farms , few based on the old zetor crystal 8011 more on the MF 200, also seen a few lightforce as well , but not in the usual orange but yellow cabless models , to equal to the MF 240/250 tractors ideal for yeard tractors

yeah really need to be looking for a mounted implement kev & avoid anything with wheels at all unless it's a trailer last thing you need is to be trundling round the lanes with an implement on steel wheels

My version of PDC's MF699
MJB1 replied to richo's topic in Latest Tractor Conversions & Scratch Builds
good going richo , done more detailing that i would have done , i take it that only having two gearlevers, it's a multi-power tractor -
keep looking kev , surprising how often MF/ ferguson fingerbar mowers come up on ebay

i know i said the 3000 masseys but ought to add the deutz 4.70 was probably the gutiest 4cyl tractor i've driven bar none, also got to love the 6.05 & the 6.30 awsome sound & a nice drive to also loved the fendt 612 i used to drive as well

i drove a 7740 when they were first released & way before the sle was an option , mater of fact it was so early dual power wasn't even a fitment or option , awfull tractor for pulling ,the usuall working gears were not well matched to the engine , too slow to keep up with the forager , the next gear was too much for the poor engine as nearly kept stalling it , that was probably it for my 40 series experience till an encounter with a 7840 & an 8240 they seemed fairly good , but didn't spend more than a few hours on either

got to get that 698 refurbed mart , looks like your boss can afford it , c'mon man you know it makes sense
