would it be any advantage to fitting rubber washers to help with the vibration ?
  7. well i'm not happy with it as a 550 now, have looked at it again & think it's probably closer to a 565, as the cab still doesn't sit quite low enough

yes i spsoe yer right never thought of it like that before , looks like a big tarp for the time being then , what about a film of vegetable oil ? would that last out of season ? nasty crack there gav is this down to bad casting , just the workload they do or just a stress position ? used an old grimme colt destoner & because of the lack of flex in the main pipes the casting at the bolting area would go luckily not the actual pump
  10. ah the joy of subscription as per all good , especially the article on the farmer with classic masseys & two deeres also great stories from the ex MF & county men always good to read . rory any chance of a search for one of the red counties , someone somewhere must have one ?

great pics gav , the new grader looks well kept for it's age , real shame it'll be stored outside but sprayed over with diesel/oil mix it shouldn't start ageing overnight ! i used to dread harvesting in the dust , apart from brused potatoes, you at least knew what you'de be doing out of season ..................... replaceing many of the bearings due to dustgrinding especially for the main web agitators , well your luckier than i was, as i then had to get the harvester reconfigured for parsnips
  13. very Nice mate but looks like you still have some Deere's that need turning up the rightway, paint, cabs, wheels & decals yet . i suppose the ironing board is yet to serve it's workbench purpose as of yet
  14. i dare say if you gave up on the wall & decided to use toffee apple & lolly sticks to fence it, the end result would be equally impressive ! cant add much to whats been said except i did look gaze at this at spalding it's an exceptional piece of work
  15. may go into halfords to find a match for MF red as not paying £8.75 per can from the dealers \
  16. just read your signature text , shouldn't the last bit be your life is at risk when sean is driving ? :D
  17. i suppose it would work mark , & the idea of welding hooks to the underside of the bucket to hang the bag before filling is a good idea , but the weight of the right size bucket & a tonne of soil may not do the tractor & loader much good in the long term, as the bucket is more long & narrow as opposed to short & wide to keep the weight back nearer the tractor , maybe a frame to hang the bags to fill might be a better option . Have you got an electronic / pressure gauge weigher fitted ? only ask as for sale to the public you really don't want to be tangled up with the people from trading standards / weights & measures \ might be even worth looking at trailed hopper / elevator with weigh scales fitted
  18. i think most of the green waste comes from chard council waste disposal & recycling center otherwise known as chard dump all the bins & yard are contract to viridoor so i supose the contractor is either employed from viridoor or somerset county council i'd imagine it was council as the proccedes from the sold compost is classed as revenue for the council we have a few of those buckets at a couple of mills, a sort of square tapered funnel , with a slide along the back pannel fill the bucket, lift & crowd right back then open the slide into small compartments in the lorry body !
  19. i thought of old airfields too sean , but thought it was a bit obvious ,that & didn't know if there were any near mark what, the one up round bath / tetbury / stroud ? or the one at chard ? tell the truth Tris i havent got a clue, at chard i was going a bit fast to actually see who the contractor was & the other i didn't take much notice must have been on auto pilot , followed him through Hawksbury Upton towards Wooton-Under-Edge / Wickwar, real crappy little lanes
  20. thanks , can i ask where the decals are from ? i saw nigel & seans 550 biult a while back but wasn't much to choose between them i thought the 135 & 362 chassis worked well
