  1. would you believe a ford 4/5000 industrial, hitched to a trailer in a field up round ledbury way sorry andy no pics but i will try to stop next time i'm up round there
  2. thats turned out rather well ! well done paul nicely finished
  3. really ? thats quite a lame excuse ,real or not . Surely if you dont like having a driver remove him , at least you have a choice . Those of us who do want drivers don't have that choice. As usual it's all down to personal preference , but go through the immage archives here & look at some of the displays members have created you'll soon see the difference between a good display & a better display. Yes it's all well & good showing action shots of the machines & models , but ruined because of no driver , perfect example , this months Classic Tractor mag july 09 page 113,114 & 115 some quite amazing photography of models that at first glance thought were real, but whats the one thing they all lack to create that last bit of realism........drivers !
  4. thanks richard & johny very much so mate , always have a smile when i see them , although , some are harder to remember where & when the pics were taken in the first place \
  5. some great pics taken smelly going looks good UF certainly have more grass than some foraging at the moment , but is it turned to wilt or for 2 into 1 because you lot think those fords are invincible all cleared now though , whats next fert or slurry ?
  6. just one to go on with for now , a very tidy valmet 63002wd
  7. nice pics mart , but just not getting the attraction of the farm sign stuff on the tractors ? & what about those loader stand brackets & the front linkage rams hanging down , doesn't any of that annoy you ? it irritates me every time i see them in the pics , almost makes me want to get a plane up & tidy it up a bit then maybe make my escape in the 698 that everyone seems to want to avoid have you ever thought that the poor old girl sits in the shed everyday sadly wondering what she's done wrong to always be ignored :'( come on mart get her out & about
  8. blimey cerin , when you said there was a big hole , i thought maybe it was a hole with a bit of slack not a big hole , you could almost put yer fist through that

have to agree with mark here adam , finding one with an auto hitch is rare enough , but the engine covers as well ! big ,slow, cumbersome tractors & apart from the clutch bulletproof. i know many southwest 2000 series tractors were sold with auto hitch simply because of the variety of tasks it was expected to do in & around dairy farms , but on the larger estates up round mark & gav's area , they were bought with heavy draft, PTO operations in mind . having said that if it was fitted you had to be a contortionist just to use the bl00dy thing ! when swapping silage trailers about i had an old car wing mirror gaffa taped onto a broom handle , then the trick is to hold the mirror still while you keep turning the beast & try to operate the lift lever till the hitch was lined up, a great way to spend 5 minutes :D having said all that , you really can't beat these tractors on hedgetrimming i just love 'em
  10. confirmed date ? i hope so mate , i've booked the day off
  11. apart from the sticker ? i havn't got a clue colm
  12. they were called WILLS PARTNERS from yeovil marsh / ilchester area. don't think they're contractors anymore , they had quite a big farm & utilised the kit they had. they first ran 120hp SAME tractors then moved to JD 6800's not sure what happened to them , but it was two brothers , i think one took the family farm on & the other went as a head driver on another farm , last time i saw martin wills he was driving a fendt 612 for another farmer always , i'm familliar with machinery like this , went for a ride round in a few fendts the other day , i think i'd get used to it , but i felt quite left behind by the ammount of technology used deffinately low tech stuff mate , from a time when the drivers didn't need a phd to drive them
  13. looks like i'm on for coldridge ! after all i'm sat all day every day in the lorry , why would i want to spend 2 days polishing it
  14. thanks mate liked going through those again 612's was a great tractor, as was the 611's the pictures there show them on road work , but i only did that when it was too wet for injecting, otherwise i'd be on field work with a 5 leg shakerator on the back of the tank modified for sludge injection , i used to inject raw sewage & slaughterhouse waste, illegal now but used to do quite a lot back in the day, wasn't a nice job unblocking the pipes when offal got wedged in them \ as for the deutz in the lagoon, it wasn't very often they did that , usually had a bray B5000 for that but nobody really liked driving it , so the 4.70 drew the short straw proper tractors bob ! the 7710's were at a farm near dorchester luke , upcerne estate. 2000 acres of cereals & 500 acres of woodland & some real evil slopes on chalk & flint brash, also had a few pictures of the combines & the county 1004 but cant find those , i must have them about somewhere ? the 69 & 64 silageing was a good shot , i do like that one the noton trailers were on oversize tyres & were great to pull as they were on a wider track width than the marstons & would follow the tractor round corners flat out whereas the marstons were weaving all over the place digital camera's are great Ol, delete what you want & are instant & cheap , but the proper film camera adds that bit of extra character to the scene
  15. nice going tris , got some great weather to go on , & see what you mean about the soil , like gav , was sursprised to see the drills so shallow, but supose they'll be ridged at a later date. that hanomag looked a beast , can see the fendt relation in the front grill . glad yer back though
  16. have been tempted to have a go at one of these meself , as do like the look of PDC's bonnets if it's anything like the last few you've done this will also turn out a corker
  17. lovely to see proper photo's , thanks mate
  18. would be nice to see cerin , but i think luke would need to double the size of the trailer fleet, to keep up with the choppers he's using like tris said luke , these wet days soon burn a hole in the pocket :D

& it's taken you 4 years to fit arials :D only messing with you mate still think it's a nice little tractor , not had much experience with lambo's or same's but the people who have 90 - 100hp usually have them fitted with loaders & are well pleased with them . a good tractor with a big appitite for work
  20. yes the attic by the looks of it G :D really good set up you have nige , & you're maximising grahams sheds to the full , but dont forget to leave some room for the fields mate , we also want to see that kit running flat out for silage

great ! just need a CB now mate :D how long do you reckon those little black endcaps on the arials will last before the trees & hedges pull them off ? i managed a year
  22. those wheels & tyres look good paul , but unless you can bring the 6290 wheels to look a bit more genuine will be interesting to see the results , but as a whole , it's looking a very good model mate , might need to tinker with the exhaust pipe though
  23. bales look good paul good tip to know about as well as for models , not at the moment mate , was going to try a trailed forager a few weeks back with parts i have but cant find the parts
