  1. Britains dropped the 'flickering' spout in the late 1980's. This is mentioned in Peter Baron's book 'Toy Tractors from Britains'. What you've got there is the later version and is as Britains made it.
  2. Thanks for explaining the systems these use. Nice videos and nice models but I won't be buying either. Well not until they are a realistic price anyway.
  3. I've so far resisted from buying any and starting yet another collection. Mrs PDH would not be pleased. From those I've seen they are good and some are highly sought after. If the new Corgi range goes ahead the 1/43 could become popular.
  4. If that's the case then that explains a lot. Just looked at the farmmodels list.... For the JD and Fendt it says 6753 John Deere 6920s with Remote Unit 6754 Fendt 930 with Remote Unit However with the Axion it says.... 6760 Class Axion 850 with RC Unit due end Sep 07 Subtle difference. The Siku catalogue is no help. Tellerian help please........
  5. They probably do own the moulds otherwise they couldn't be releasing them but I understood Hatchette paid for them. Ownership was probably part of the deal.
  6. and the models were paid for by Hatchette who commissioned them for their magazine.
  7. Just check http://www.farmmodels.co.uk/siku-farmmodels.html Tractor only is ?74, No price for the full kit.
  8. Yes but the JD and Fendt aren't radio controlled, they are controlled via infra-red. The MAN and Axion will have a new radio control system which won't work with the Fendt and JD. That's why I'm wondering what the price will be.
  9. Time will tell Marky. Depends on how far Corgi have got with the moulds etc. However its one market (and is the fastest growing diecast sector at the current time) that Corgi haven't got a range for. If they produce implements as well then they could give UH a good run for their money.
  10. Is that the whole thing including RC transmitter, receiver, etc or just the model?
  11. Picked up one today from The Works in Exeter, ?1-99
  12. In the November issue there is the first part of a two part series of articles on toy and model Claas Combines. Written by David Pullen. It states that there are over 60 different toy and model Claas combines have been produced. I assume the two articles will show most or all of these 60. In a separate article it confirms Corgi will be introducing a 'completely new range of 1/43rd scale tractors' in the second half of 2008.
  13. Think I might wait and see how much they want for one. If the MAN is ?250 reckon they'll want quite a bit for the Axion as well. May be worth waiting a few months for the price to fall as it always does.
  14. I'd go along with the Massey 135. Still looks good even today though it was first produced in 1968. I also have a soft spot for the Fordson Power Major, the first Britains tractor I ever had and played with so much I wore most of the paint off it.
  15. The yellow was not being produced now. The production models will be red.
  16. I've been thinking of using Plastruct I or H beams on the bigger one to convert it into a Dutch Barn.
  17. Don't worry Tris you're not the only one. Just clipped a granite kerb stone and wrote off a ?300 alloy wheel on the car. All I was trying to was make room for a bus to pass. :'(
  18. You're right 7....need to go the opticians. Am I right in thinking that is Renault Nectra?
  19. Very nice. What's the tractor with the 8F plough?
  20. Welcome Linus. Regarding magazines for modern equipment you really only have those aimed at the farming community. Farmers Weekly is probably the best known but its a bit to general for my taste, not enough on machinery. The magazine I buy for the current and new machinery is Profi. See http://www.profi.com/EN_en I find it very informative and deatiled on modern day equipment. Some of the article eminate from Germany where the magazine was started but its all translated in to perfect English. My local WH Smiths sells the magazine or you can get by subscription.
  21. This is the first 1/32nd item I know of to be produced by Wiking. Lets hope it's a success and they bring additional items out......
  22. I thought Wiking were closely associated with Siku? Their 1/87th scale stuff is very nice. Will have to look closely at this when it's released.
