Got put on this for a couple of days carting bales, very nice tactor i must say My loads the 6930 and my friends on the 6520, ready to be taken up to warrington town centre, lovely drive Later on in the season now... my job was discing, mostly rape stubble but also some wheat stubble And on sunday morning the boss gets a phonecall explaining this... next day the job was carting the mess away

Just thought id show you all a few pictures from summer and onwards, enjoy First day of combining, combine clean and ready to go! Waiting for the combine to fill the trailer... On the straw turner on the little 6420, she pulls like a beast For the rest of the harvest my job was loading bales, gets tiring after a while especially when the tractor isnt great... It was wet, windty and getting dark so we decided to call it a day john deere 6520 loader and a 6920s Ill upload a few more at some point today

Looks like a standard, the standard 30 series look very similar to the 20 series, whereas the premium 30 series have a 'facelift' if you like

the 6 and 7r series john deeres really do look good. I had a look at the command quad transmission and it looks great, apparently its just like an electronic version of auto quad. i'd really like to try one of these tractors, might mention it to the boss

The dieci is already ordered now, as i say it performed great for the couple of weeks that we had it but its just the reliability factor \ We'll just have to see how it goes i suppose... other option would have been a new holland but there exactly the same machine just with a different paint job from what ive seen

So they've put new gearboxes in the 6r series?

The 6930 does all the drilling and this year a hired t6080 did all the ploughing. Everyone on the farms says that the 6930 isnt a patch on the new holland but i have to say im stuck with john deere. I think the best option would be to get hold of a new 6r and see how that competes against a blue one and like others have said, new holland seem to be cheaper than the green machines If im honest, the only downside that i found with the t6080 was the range command gearbox, it just seemed to rev none stop when your on the road and you try to shift ranges and the tractor just beeps at you. Field work the 6080 definatley pulls better than the deere but for road work i dont think you can go wrong with an autoquad gearbox in a 6930 and i havent had much experience with the cvt boxes which is probably why im drawn to autoquad... if only you could combine the two ay

the boss is splashing the cash this year... A manitou mlt 627 jouined the farm in june and hasnt been the best of machines whatsoever. It replaced a john deere 3215 that was on an 05 plate and it worked wonders, only trouble was that it was getting on a bit so we decided it was time to swap it Our john deere dealer cornthwaites offered us the 627 at an unbeatable price so we got it having tried a bigger mlt 634 last harvest and we were impressed. Nobody likes the machine, the safety features on it just take over for example... your extending the boom with a full bucket of grain on and it suddenly stops extending because there is too much weight on the front according to the machine. Along with this, its just not a nice machine to drive and the lift capacity isn't a patch on the old deere \ anybody else feel the same about these telehandlers? Having gone through this years harvest with it, we decided it needs swapping so weve gone for a dieci, it has a 3.7tonne lift and 7m reach so its a much bigger machine than the manitou. Nobodys had much experience with the dieci machines but from the few weeks we had it on demo it performed really well and lifts a full bucket of grain with ease, looks like it will be a good machine, just the quality im not sure about and i know manitou do have quite a high reputation...

In summer i was on a 6920s with a 4m kuhn, it coped fine but just got light on the front end seen as it had no weight on it The farm my dad works for pulls a kverneland 4m combination with a 6930 and that could do with more power if im honest.

we run autoquad gearboxes on both the deeres, personally i dont think you can go wrongnespecially with the auto shuttle for road work. A lot of people have said they like the new holland t7's but id like to try a new 6r like a 6210r, looks like one of those would cope easilly for the sowing and ploughing duties! what gearboxes are best for a t7? A friend has used the auto command and he said its not all what it cracks up to be whereas a farm down the road has a t7050 with power command and they say that is great Spoilt for choice id say

Were looking at buying a new tractor for our drilling, ploughing and general jobs throughout the year. Our biggest at the moment is a john deere 6930 that does the seeding and ploughing but we are looking for something in the 200hp region. Id like to say the new john deere 6r look pretty impressive? or even a 7530 but the boss is drawn to new holland as we hired a couple during the summer... one t6080 and a t8030 for sumo work. Whats everyones opinion? Green or blue...

Anybody tried google sketch up? This is a similar program that i use for playing around with. I used it to design the new grain shed 3 years and the finished product wasnt too different to the propper shed

No cattle on our farm, 1500 acres of arable crop split up into 400 acres of wheat, 450 acres of barley, 300 acres of oilseed rape and the rest has been put down to schemes of wild flowers and grassland for 10 years which isnt the best put it pays more so we cant complain. Run two jd's and a case with the main highlight of the farm being the bateman sprayer thats now 2 years old. In summer we hire out two new hollands from the local dealer, one for the sumo and another for carting and ploughing duties

no its love brothers's set up that the deutz is running on, we get it onn hire after harvest however it'll be a new holland this year as the dealers have changed hands

got 2 6930's on hire, a manitou 634 120 on demo and a deutz x720 on demo for the subsoiler on the heavy ground

The combine is a john deere t670, the grain sample is pretty good aswell, weve got plenty of crop going through it aswell

We got 2 jd 6930's on 4 baily 14t trailers with a john deere t670 25ft cut that replaced 2 john deere 1188's

we have tried altering all the drum clearance and the seives but the crop just gets chucked back out as we are putting too much into the combine

yep, weve tried altering the settings on the computer and tried bringing the wind guards in but it just chucks it out the feederhouse :/

Got around 800 acre of winter barley done, one hell of a swath coming off it. We got a contractor to come and bale it with a bb960 and it was leaving bits of straw as the pickup wasnt wide enough
