New MF's for 2010
Wstarcummins replied to An Interested Spectator's topic in General Hobby Discussion
SpecCast 1/64 scale 8680 US and Europe versions. Sean -
Well, this is my entree for the cmpetition, since I am from the US and could make anything farm related in 1/32 scale.....and since Ive never tried modeling tractors in 1/32 scale, I decided to do a Peterbilt 379 grain truck. I will be a quad axle.....to explain to the Euro guys (so I dont get bout it) It is a rear tandem axle setup, with a lift axle in front of the tandems and a steerable lift axle behind the tandems, therefore, 4 axles on the rear. This setup is popular on log trucks and milk trucks and some grain trucks. Here is the list of everything I will be doing to the truck, starting out as a 1/32 scale New Ray Peterbilt. -Fix doors, make them swing the whole way out, and make a full door instead of a half door. -Make hood open -Fix hood on the inside from all the screws and what not -Make a detailed engine (Detroit Series 60? Or Cummins KTA) -Make transmission (thinking about a 13 speed....) -Make a detailed interior. -Scratch built detailed frame -Make suspension, using steyrene and parts from the New Ray frame. -Steerable front axle. -Both lifts raise and lower, the rear lift steerable. -Make grain bed, raisable with a scissor hoist. -Detailed wiring (hopefully) -Repaint cab, any color suggestions? -Fix the rivet mess on the hood....anyone need rivets, ha ha!! -Make a nice set of mirrors. -Add hand rails. -Add alittle bit of "bling" -Add rear lights. -Scratch build top cab lights and horns. -Scratch built aircleaners. -Fixing air cleaner placement. I will also be updating the list with what Im working on, whats done, and what I still need to do including pics. Sean

Time to start chopping corn 8-) We ended up using the 1370 instead of the White because the spindles stuck out too far on the White O well, so we ended up using the White to pull the wagons back and forth to the farm because it is faster than the Oliver.....so far nothing has broken and I think we will have good stuff to say on the NH chopper. BTW, painted and put in the corn tonight, still no where near finished though, what do you guys think?? I may have to take em out and hit em with another coat of green.....also, we got some tall corn this year! 1370 on the chopper. Sean

I still have alittle bit of work to do, rear fenders are also almost done. The front of the frame is done with the engine. Im not sure what axle Im going to use yet for the front though. Probably will be off a JD 4000 series. Sean -

Wstarcummins replied to caseih1056's topic in Latest Tractor Conversions & Scratch Builds
Sweet! One question though. Does the 2805's in Europe have a set foward front axle? Here in the state's both the 2775 and 2805 have a set back front axle. Sean -

Wstarcummins replied to thomas b's topic in Model Farms & Layouts
Well done! Great job for a 1/87 scale farm. It is rather unusual compared to American farms I must say though! Sean -
It sure looks to be a Ertl to me.....specailly the interior, same floor as in the JD's and Case's and same type of interior..... Sean

I wasnt how sure how popular Sunflower is over the ocean........Sunflower has came very popular here Im gonna say in the last 5 years. Great plains is a popular brand here to, mainly for they're grain drills. Sean

Wstarcummins replied to bluegreen's topic in Latest Tractor Conversions & Scratch Builds
You Euro guys and your fat tires The tires that come stock on the tractor is even wider than alot of the real Magnums here in the US. It will take time for me to get used to the Beacons......... Anyways, good work Sean -
Hey Bill, then who is producing this DT300 Sure looks to be Ertl to me, also heard that the news of it wasnt supposed to be released yet but someone posted a picture on Toy Tractor Times and it broke out then..... This is not my picture, got the picture from Chris Taylor and he got it from TTT...... Sean

Some implements now. New Ez-Trail grain cart. New Sunflower (Agco) chissel/disk plow Used Sunflower double fold disk. As you should see the implements are where you start seeing the change between Euro and US equipment. On tractors its lights, front 3 pt. hitch, and the wheels. Sean
