  1. well took the weekend off to do a trail walk called the tongario crossing its not tractor related but thought id throw a few pics up anyway, its ment to be one of the best one day hikes in the world. It carries you through volcano craters and volcanic mountain peaks and stuff like that and is very impressive to say the least. its 17km long so i know im going to be sore tomorrow ;D heres a few pictures
  2. great looking farm, i love that legend conversion
  3. ;D ;D between all the weeling and dealing its a very tangled weeb with Mr R seeming to make up the middle of it in nearly every regard. we collected some "silage bales" that ye made a week or two ago on old mountain road today, on closer inspection it looks as if a certain person has tried to pass hay bales off as good quality silage bales
  4. ok heres the twist they were joined up with Mcfarlanes cos kairangi dont have a harvester and kairangi did mcfarlans big square bailing in return but ive heard Mcfarlans have got into a spot of bother financialy too so they prob need another guy with a chopper hence andrew
  5. o ya go and do the luge in rotorua, its good crack, we went a bit mad on that nearly took out ourselves and a group of turkish guys
  6. kaipaki? never heard of them unless its kairangi contractors you mean? man some of these nz names are a mouthful \
  7. thanks mate, well ya after the 5140 the 7130 is the baby alrite . well it hasnt started flat out or anything that was just one early job, saying that though i think austin has cut some, well i defidently saw quite a big block cut south of hamilton the lads said it was austin who did it so not sure. but alot of farmers have started green feeding it now, i saw a claas 890 opening up a padock today for a farmer who is starting his green feeding. the middle of march shud see the maize kicking off properly according to the lads. ;D id say it would be hard to be as bad as him from the stories ive been hearing
  8. wow sean uve done it again, the finished one looks amazing, wud look damn nice on one of my lee's
  9. loks like theres will be a load of detail on it loking good
  10. well up date on the tractor, dont really have any pictures of it yet will do my best to take some tomorrow. anyway we basically work on it between other jobs. the first bit after we collected it, involved removing the broken casting and basically rebuilding the transmission which was pretty well damaged, we finally got around to do a bit on it again today and now have the whole chassi put back together again. she is sitting in the shed intact so to speak minus the rims, cab, bonnet etc. tomorrow well star plumbing up her hose lines again so by thursaday we will be lifting the cab just above her mounts so the guys with the know how and patience can do all the electrical work. there is also some guy coming to do a bit of plastic wielding on the cab roof, and there will have to be a few new panels got as the guy gave his head some wallop and broke a load of stuff. incidently all the blood has now been cleaned up o ya ud be surprised to see how soft the actual casting is, we had to make one bolt hole bigger by drilling because the old casting was slightly different from the newer version and it was like a hot knife cutting through butter. it basically only has a bit of strength in the horizontal direction so hitting it from the side will defidently not do it any favours. added to the weak metal is the fact that there is a load of large inspection areas on the sides to allow you to get at her clutches without splitting the tractor so that doesnt help in making it any stronger. anyway il try a nd get a few picture tomorrow so ye can see for yourself
  11. its about 13-15 cent per kg here to be harvested, but a bit more onto it then depending on how far to the pit and amount of trucks used etc
  12. very nice thomas its something like that id like to get, the guys i work for here had a jd maize planter before that originally looked like that but after some major modifications they turned it into something alot different
  13. some nice photos there, would love to drive one some time soon hopefully
  14. thanks lads, i cant remember the one siku did right now. i think i might go about getting a planter soon for the collection, anyone know if you can defidently drill maize with the planter dt makes as marcus said
  15. ya mart its going to be a case 7500
  16. i can help ye with the beer but as for the women thats a different story as you well know Lyn
  17. wow that is a master piece alrite, does he make any kind of shed ud like?
  18. anyone out there making or already made a maize planter, would like to see some posted if they are about
  19. thanks john, ya ive no regrets about it
  20. well initiately its dear to get here, cant remember exactly what the plane tickets cost for return and insuance etc i think some where around ?1500 or something, after that i landed here with only ?400 in my pocket damn college had me broke, but that money was easily enough to last me the first few weeks till i got paid. by the time i leave here there will be a bit in the bank alrite but il have that all spent again when i go travelling in the end, but most people wouldnt be going here to make money anyway. and what i make a week here doing a modest enough hours is more then enough to have a very comfortable life, id defidently considering moving here later on
  21. thanks mate, well i have to say its been a great experience, the two contractors i worked for here are top guys who treated me very well, brought us to plenty barbeques, fishing trips, drinking excursions and gave us time off when ever requested, etc etc. on top of that new zealand is a claas country with tonnes of stuff going on and out of all the coutries ive been in so far i havent met friendlier people any where else, and one of the biggest things going for it is how cheap everything is here compared to home. anyway id recommend for anyone who wants to broaden their minds a bit and see something different to give it a go, suir enough there will be some depressing days for whatever reasons but 99% of the time things will be good. my next destination will be australia next october id say
  22. thanks for the comment luke, and ur your right about the harvester haha dont even ask what it costs to buy all the paint to make there colour policy work . i like that picture too, took it yesterday evening
