  1. There's a big mixed team harvesting last years carrots - still - under straw, on the way into work at Brough (if I time it wrong I get stuck in the traffic behind them at 7:30!). Case MXs, NH T7xxx, Easterby trailers and a muddy red lifter I can't see closely in the rush to work.
  2. Carrot-lifting pics proved a failure - the straw chopper had broken down and everything was stuck at the other end of the field, until a 08-reg JD7530 & Western turned up and stopped nearby. The roadsweeper was a W-reg 6410. It was too dark n grim (& cold) for pics anyhow
  3. More on the carrot-lifting near Brough yesterday there was a big McCormick Tractor (first one I have seen) & Easterby trailer I followed a JD6920 with Western this morning The straw lifter is an old-ish JD and the driver of that had an old Fastrak and sweeper to clear the roads of the inevitable mud! Will take a camera tommorrow, so hope they are working near the roadside
  4. Was the ford dumper painted blue John? I've seen a blue one about and the drainage company down our lane has a yellow one. Odd looking machines. Yes it was. Wish i could have got a closer look - it was certainly nice and clean.
  5. been to York and back twice taking the misssus - stopped near there for some trenching with a big Ford and fixed dumper trailer (without front wheels) except my batteries were flat and it was snowing ! Other wise, a big MF and Class ploughing, several NHs with various trailers (Easterby, Marstons) carting muck, a muck spreading team with JDs, finally carrots are being harvested near Brough with a JD7930 & Grimme with a new NH & MF leading trailers. Wish I had time to stop !!!!
  6. the very best of Luck to everyone form me, too ! (only one bottle of Batemans Victory Ale....and about to crash !)
  7. Was out and about shopping witht hte missus earlier and there were lots of signs around the Leven-Hornsea area of East Yorks describing a charity Tractor run on Sunday 23r - starting at 9:30 in Leven. Take a couple for me(I'll be under orders !)
  8. Hornseys are running an auction of the complete farm equipment at Butt farm, south of Beverley, on 26th Sept. items include 5 tractors (Case 5130, 856XL, 885, 695 and MF135), Class Protector combine and a whole range of implements and assorteed farm "stuff" see... http://www.hornseys.uk.com/index.cfm?fa=contentGeneric.ucmiopqeetdjuvhs
  9. Lovely ! is that a BTD6 ? Spent many a happy hour on them with my Dad ploughing (1963-ish !!!) Thanks for your replies chaps. There's not a lot of recent action to report but I am trying to get my phtobucket account going to log all my photos
  10. Evenin' all (back again after a long lay off sorting out a "new" PC) I've been surprised how few Combines I've seen in the last couple of weeks on my travels. Absolutely none seen all the way from Beverley to Eastbourne in glorious weather last week. 2 today around the Moors (a Lexion near Driffield and a NH near Pickering - Walter Dewent country) and that's about it ! looks like there's more than half of the harvest yet to finish round here. PS there's some lovely photos on here too - well done chaps
  11. Is there a way of picking up "replies to your posts" as on the old forum ?
  12. An immaculate week old 12 reg'd (ie a week early !) MF6485 drllling spring Barley on the Wolds above Pocklington. It was naff light so wouldn't have been a great shot anyhow.
  13. Livestock still needs attending to, even during holidays ! A tidy blue Zetor with quickie loader was seen delivering a bale of hay to sheep at Thorton-le Dale this afternoon (nr Pickering) - "Walter Derwent" territory ! Happy New year Everyone
