  1. Possibly the late Ron and Mick Cooper? I’ve a number of their items mostly brass. A subsoiler and a couple of ploughs they made probably back in the early 2000’s.
  2. After your link I managed to nab the red 7726S! Would have loved the black one as drive a black 7720S quite often!
  3. That looks spot on Phil, amazing what difference the dots on the leds make look spot on as the real ones always look ‘plasticky’ I think!
  4. Saw one in person at Toytrac yesterday and if the example is the same quality as the production then it’ll be a good one 👌🏻 plastic panels and chassis pretty much matched up unlike older JD models 😀
  5. About the only good thing to come out of this harvest so far is plenty of wet evenings and weekends at the workbench! Last wet harvest I made a grain dryer this one I decided on a combine. MF 32 is the current project 😎
  6. Like that a lot Nige, cracking craftsmanship 👌🏻
  7. Nothing ground breaking but more fun than buying off the shelf models! Shelbourne Reynolds feeder wagon and a Kidd 450 straw blower to go on a layout I’m working on!
  8. I’ve had it on my list for a while after a conversation with our local Claydon rep via Twitter! I found the parts manuals and the brochures quite handy, using publisher I made side views to scale from stated dimensions! However since starting making the models we bought one on our home farm so if you need a hand with pictures and dimensions just shout 👌🏻
  9. Many thanks James, these have certainly tested my patience and skill with these! Have spent many an hour in the tractor cab thinking how each section will be made, cutting the Claydon logo out for the main frame was probably the easiest bit 😂 The leg assemblies really tested me, 8 components in each 7 of them hand made, luckily I got the rear leg from a donor cultivator to save that hassle!
  10. Finally got the Claydons just about ready for some paint now! Has been a slog getting the leg assemblies all done but pleased how it’s gone 😎
  11. Started these back in the spring, finally got back to them since the weathers turned! Something a bit different, a pair of Claydon 3 metre Hybrid drills! Most of the frame is there now just the fiddly part of coulters and tines !
  12. Another absolute beauty John also on my to make list 😂 What’s the plan for the rear? A nice period Kuhn/Accord combi drill 👌🏻🤔
  13. Speechless John, that’s incredible 😱 Detailed up the Siku wheels look spot on! Seems like winters come early down south with us so might have some time to get back to the bench to tackle my own!
  14. Thank you, we try to look after them! Their both on just over 8500 hours very little compared to some out there! Not sure on the future of ours both get used less and less due to lack of tls and us doing more road work. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a 00 SE, plenty of 10’s about isn’t there. They are pretty bullet proof aren't they, ours haven’t been without their problems the 64 has a habit of going through viscous vans at the moment maybe due to a lot of tick over work post knocker etc!
  15. Another absolute cracker John, a favourite of mine also and it’s also on the cards one day! If you’d ever part with a bonnet kit I’d be very interested We run a 64 & 6800 at home both from new, no 10 series though! Skipped that generation to a 69 and 7920!
  16. Incredible work as per usual John, I am very envious of your progress on builds! I’ve only ever seen these in hedge rows 😂
  17. Thought I’d start a topic for some of the models I’ve made past and present. I tend to focus on models that I’ve used or see locally to me. First up is what my main focus has been over lockdown and over winter making hedge trimmers. I’ve made a good few McConnels and also a Shelbourne Reynolds HD760T. Pictures speak a thousand words, if anyone has any questions don’t hesitate to ask!
  18. Braved it and decided to stick one of my scratch built hedge cutters on eBay. Thought I’d share a link may be of interest to some on here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114764927641
  19. Started out by making one hedge cutter at the beginning of lockdown and now I’ve made six ! 5 McConnels all different models and one Shelbourne Reynolds. Some will be for sale when finished if anyone’s interested!
  20. Many thanks James, rightly or wrongly I don’t use plasticweld anymore as like you say it can make the plastic very dirty! I also find it deforms the plastic depending on the application. I’ve been using ‘Gorilla’ super glue for 5-6 years now and haven’t had any issues with things breaking or degrading so that’s what I’ve stuck with !
  21. I know what you mean hadn’t thought of using those! This is just brass rod, i forget the size. I also use plastic rods in certain situations when they don’t have to be removed as they friction themselves together well !
