  1. Thanks for the helpful response Walter.I didn't expect it to be compatible,so there's a bonus. I guess the allure/prestige of the name drew me to think "Stuff it,I like a Lambo tractor" & whilst as you say it resembles a Deutz Fahr et al,it's unusual silver colour makes it stand out. I actually have never owned a Siku before,so this may start a flood & I will give you a verdict in due time. Thanks for the handy pictures & it would seem a got a nice little item for a tenner.
  2. Although it hasn't reached me yet to confirm,I've picked what appears to be a Lamborghini tractor in silver(an R8 265 apparently) so I eagerly await to ind out what it's like....... I'm assuming it won't be necessarily fully compatible with Britains impliments?
  3. Just ordered my last John Deere for a mere £15.29 on there.It's a 7930 (42266) & I should stop at three really.Just a JCB & then I can pick up a few buildings & implements.........
  4. Sounds like a poor show from the manufacturers there! I can't say I'm too impressed with their latest Land Rover(the type with the metal canopy). No sprung suspension.I bought a slightly older Defender on Ebay & that at least has the suspension(like the older 80s & County model),but the tyres are ridiculously wide.
  5. Anyone got some hints on how to get the cab off & add a driver figure? Seems like a finishing touch it desperately requires but I don't want to orce anything & break it.
  6. Funnily enough,I nearly made a right old mistake.Spotted a Britains MF 6480 & thought it was a bargain.Required 3 x AAA batteries to make it's lights etc work, before realising the model's a 1:16 instead of 1:32........... Must be near the end of the week
  7. I have ended up with two.The better one still has all the plastic cog teeth & also the front stand.
  8. Always had bother with the cogs on my Howard rotary manure spreader.I have a newer one that performs very well
  9. I'd be happy with ANY Britains Iveco milk tanker TBQH,as that was the one that got away as far as I was concerned. In my era it was the blue Milk Marketing Board version I remember(9604 apparently),that appear to be around the £60 on ebay these days
  10. I quite like the fold-up cultivator,as this was quite new when I got into the toys(showing my age now ). But you're quite correct Nathan. One thing I noticed the other day was the similarity between my New Holland T6070 & the Case 125 Maxxum.Same chassis, cab + interior, rear hitch.About the only alterations were colour(red instead of blue, obviously),the front bonnet from the cab to headlights including the front weight & the wheels are silver grey instead of white. Know what you mean about a plough-Good job I still have my 1985 Kverneland vari-width one in red.
  11. Cheers Justy.Ironically I had an email this morning telling me a Britains Massey Ferguson 3680 with dual rearwheels,a white cab & no box is on it's way from Somerset to me today. Paid a little short of £20 for it,but the model appears 100% & won't stand out from the rest of the stock. This is the last of the 1980s tractors I was hunting,so just a 760 Combine & a couple of implements from that era to find now.
  12. There seems to be an offer on Amazon for this at £37.99 but it appears they have BOTH barn buildings in a set for £15.49. The former offer is reduced from £59.99 which seems a decent offer.
  13. Does anyone know how many tractors in the latest range have removable cabs? So far I've discovered my New Holland T6070 does & allegedly, those on both the Case Maxxum 125 & JCB 7230 Fastrac(42503) will also remove quite easily. My reasons for asking are that two of mine don't (my MF & John Deere),which is a pity,as I'd like to add driver figures if possible........
  14. I anyone feels tempted, please be aware that the MF200 trailer doesn't connect up well with a MF7480.You pull the hitch up & the trailer trys to lift into the air.The only tractor I ever ound it worked well with was the Mercedes 1500 or the MF2680,being so heavy..
  15. Checked today & both our nearest stockists(same shop in different towns) have the Steiger 535 at £21.99. I've seen it online at £18.99 delivered, but at least the same shop had a rear-mounted Spearhead Orbital mower for £8 I'll find useful.Shame was that there was so little else of Britains stock other than some bale sets, fences & a few cattle.
  16. Cheers there Tractorman. The odd thing is I'm an exiled Geordie who's lived in the county since 1984 & prior to that,I'd lived in the Anglian region since I was five in 1975.I guess it's the area's influence that has kept my interest, but I'm not actually a farmer, nor worked on the land at any time.It was my Mum who started buying us the toys(my first things were some animals & the Fergie 595 you see in my avatar picture). Just been home to bring back two boxes worth of items. All need a good clean, but already my Renault & the Fergie 2680 with the silvergrey cab have come up a treat. Can't believe that 2680 is nearly 30 years old cos it looks great.
  17. His fuel's never been cheap,so being a village store, you can hardly expect to find a bargain. Reminds me of my Auntie's local shop in Clare,Suffolk being well-stocked for Britains things in the 1980s.It was there I found the MB1500 I have upstairs.........
  18. Hi MROL.The stuff I've bought this week was all online I'm sorry to admit.Just picked up a John Deere 7280R tractor (my 3rd in a week ).My idea was 3,4 or 5 tractors, but not to go daft There are still one or two bits in Starlings(mostly hay bales & Hereford cattle) but two of the tractors are the same Case IH Steiger.Don't know whether it's a 535 or 600,but it's priced at £22,which doesn't seem too bad for such a huge-looking thing.Didn't know Binham Stores sold the stuff(we ARE talking about the little shop with petrol pumps & a forecourt, yes?) Overall,I don't feel that there's much I should add,as much of the 1980s things at the old place just need a cleaning down & general sorting out.All the animals, animal buildings, implements, fence, walls, hay bales etc have as much relevance now as they did nearly 30 years ago. It's only some modern machinery could be added. Can anyone recommend a good,all-round Harvester I should be considering later in the year?
  19. At least the seller knows it can't be posted & has listed "pick up only".Might need a reasonably-sized pick up too.
  20. It's okay Justy,My apologies to everyone else for taking this off track as it were.I've actually been glueing my MB1500 back up as one of the green "fender" pieces that hangs over the wheel beyond the door was loose.Don't recognise that MF tractor but I definately have the Ford somewhere.Among the others are a Volvo BM,a newer Volvo 805Valmet ,a maroon/brick red Fiat halftrack,Deutz DX110,MF2680,MF595 with the double rear wheels, the Ford pictured & a Renault(one with the clicking noise). All are still with original cabs & driver figures. There are two smaller,un-named "yard" tractors that I think are based on the Ford 6600,minus a cab each. Anyway, discussing new items, does anyone know if the Britains Case IH Steiger 535 is any good?Seems quite a big monster designed with heavy duty work in mind I'm also tempted into buying the IH Maxxum 125,as this has a removable cab......... Only looking into the idea of a few tractors(about 5 or 6)
  21. Thank you there BC.I thought it to be a bit over the top in terms of price.Okay,so most if not all of it's boxed but got be at least half if not £1500.If there were 40 items in that group,it's £100 a go
  22. Something I noticed in passing as I was mulling over some Ebay items http://www.ebay.co.u...785855178863050 That's some collection of Britains stuff with a few tractors. My Brother & I must've had a dozen between us,if you include two small uncabbed ones we had
  23. Must say I don't fancy trying to prise my way into either the New Holland T6070 or the MF 7480.They're nowhere near as easy to get into, remove the cab in the way the 1980s stuff was.
  24. Fraid that the Cheese Shop's not there anymore, but you'll have to give me an idea roughly where it was in the town in relation to Larners/Bakers etc.One end's got a War Memorial & the Railway Pub,the other has an electrical shop & the King's Head Pub. I can always post up a link to Holt with pics if this helps. Thank you to everyone who's made me feel really welcome.A feeling of warmth in terms of community spirit & good to know our town's popular with folk other than just Stephen Fry, Roger Lloyd-Pack & sometimes Camilla PB who shops here!! A popular pastime a few years back was a vintage tractor run through town from the coast to Hunworth(3-4 miles south) once a year on a Sun morn.It might be an event that is still going but I'm not sure......
  25. Great pictures.I have all but the Ford in the top pic, sure I have the Fiat halftrack in the middle(might have one of the others) & in the picture above,I definately have the Ford on the right. How did anyone ever rate the lime green MercedesBenz Trac1500 in marks out of ten? As for the original topic,I'm a little undecided about new/present day Britains stock. The front wheels on my NH T6070 don't sit in line with each other & diverge when it sits idle.Shame you can't get into the models these days & add a driver either.........
