  1. I have replaced the acetate on a number of boxed models I have sold on ebay over the past few years, in all honesty it does not seem to have made any difference to the prices they have achieved in terms of they have been virtually the same as 'original' complete boxes.I think provided you do it well enough as powerabbit suggests 9.9/10 it will not make any difference in fact sometimes they actually look a lot better as it does stiffen up the boxes. There wiil always be those who will want something that is absolutely 100% original in every aspect of course but it depends where your priorities lie.Hope this helps. PS-I always state I have replaced the acetate
  2. I think you will find this particular ebay seller makes a habit of this sort of thing on the basis sometimes he finds a mug and sometimes he doesn't. (). He was also the seller of the infamous 'Terminator' Shawnee Poole Dump Trailer which was featured on here a while back.He is still up to his usual tricks on that front as well I have noticed recently. )Sadly ebay did not appear to want to do anything about it -you have been warned!!
  3. Oops forgot to photograph one-I have a Bamfords BL58 Baler in the old style sliding plinth box too -yes it is mint and complete -sorry put everything away now!
  4. Thanks for the comments guys-in answer to the various questions- 1) The plough nearest the front on the first photo-no that is what is known as a packing case box and slides in and out on a plinth-from the late 60's. 2) I would consider selling individual items as well as the whole collection. 3) I have been collecting for sometime as some as you may have guessed-some are childhood aquisitions some later. 4) Apart from some very minor paint chips on only some of the models all of them are in mint condition.I have replaced the acetate on a couple of the implement boxes as accurately as possible. 5)The motors on the powerfarm models were working last time I checked them. 6) The Picture with the straw box models the -one is a MF595 the other is a genuine MF590.
  5. Really the last one-not strictly farm models but thought they may be of interest.
  6. Thought I may as well put the lot on!
  7. Last one-I do have some other Britains boxed models also -I will try and post a full list soon.
  8. And another -and yes one of them is a genuine MF590 !
  9. Just having a sort out thought I would post asome photographs of my collection.I am considering serlling it the near future if anyone is interested please contact me.
  10. Thanks FP/ Kentman-at the back of my mind that was roughly the figure I had thought was the case - as you and Andy have suggested. As powerrabbit says you can always come down and as you both rightly say its what someone is prepared to pay if they really want one. Thanks for the help guys.
  11. Excellent idea Powerrabbit- I for one would be happy to contribute as would give everyone an idea as to what things are things are worth-a 'Glass's guide' of the farm model world perhaps?!
  12. Thanks Andy, thats really why I asked the question ,it is a proper one but just want to be fair to the guy as I said without being silly.Anyone else's thoughts appreciated as have to get back to him tomorrow.
  13. A little advice please guys-I have someone who wants to buy a mint straw boxed Deutz DX110 (1978 original version) off me.It is 100% mint and still has the retaining clip, the box is also virtually mint, without being silly what should I ask? Any help much appreciated, thanks guys.
  14. Kentman-his name is Joerg Dibo he is from Germany-I have sold quite a bit of stuff off ebay to him-a great guy to deal with.He is not quite as active on ebay as he used to be ,he used to bid on everything that was worth anything about 2 years ago.Saying that he must have one of the biggest Britains collections around. He only seems to bid on the very hard to come by items now. I am pretty sure he is a member on here. He used to employ a very interesting tactic on ebay of going in very high initially,I think a lot of people used to see his name and thought it was not worth bidding if he was in for it.I sure it must have worked for him on numerous occasions the amount of stuff he bought when he was most active.
  15. I sold one a couple of months ago to our friend the 'Funchemist' on ebay for ?75,in a Rainbow Box-it was not quite mint as some of the white plastic bodywork had discoloured slightly. As a guide as posted above boxed depending on condition anything between ?60 and ?90 on ebay in my experience.Hope this helps.
  16. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220135035171 Just thought would add a slightly different element to this debate. This sold last night on ebay,I just wondered after all the debates and appearance of alleged fakes and copies whether perhaps this had affected values? I seem to recall a certain well known member on here sold a genuine boxed 590 about 2 years ago (?) for in excess of ?400 on ebay. Could have just been one of those nights on ebay of course but interesting none the less-any thoughts anyone? Ps Before anyone says anything yes I do have a vested interest-especially Marky!!
  17. http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=150141149676. One of them obviously wanted one of these!! -but way over the odds surely-half the final figure at least I would have thought.
  18. Thanks IH,mint 595 in mint Straw Box-I would say anything between ?55 and ?80 on ebay at the moment,Thankfully I have one of those also, bought at around the same time, too much sentimental value to sell them though.
  19. It does and it was-scary isn't it! If only some of my other 'alleged' investments had performed as well!! Wish I had bought 2 !!
