  2. Anyone seen the two new grass men dvds, Keep er lit and sustain the flame. Both are brilliant. Good range of tackle, great bunch of lads, interesting and some great filming. They never bore me even though i drive tractors all day every day. Anyone else seen them or the previous dvds?
  3. In no particular order John Deere 2850 John Deere 2140 John Deere 6930 Ford 4000 John Deere 6210r (undecided yet i will say more in a few years)

  10. Oh I must add, it was all my fault not blaming anyone else, just a bit close, got distracted and was tired. thankyou
  11. Spent all summer trying to keep baler out of wet holes, only got bogged once. Main one for me was about a month ago when alot of the roads got colsed because of the flooding. Took me 3 hours to get home in tractor and I ended up in the middle of Thirsk at half 3 (school home time). Queing inm traffic and somehow i ended up running into back of a car and my band carrier on front went through the car back window. Only just touched it but my pride was hurt. ha ha! Think the hundreds on young lasses coming out of school had nothing do with distracting me causing this to happen
  12. think theres one thing missing wich could make it a bit hard to muck spread
  13. that MF 188 looks grand. The teagle tomahawk bale spreaders are a great machine we had on for many years - can rember driving it when i was about 10 and I used to pretend I was foraging with moving spout up and down.
  14. On my 69 i just put my grease gun on step and on my 2140 i bolted a black downspout drain pipe to step for grease gun to go in. Job done you pick little things up like that
  15. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO FOR WORK AFTER SUMMER?
  16. Think your 'heavy soil' is the equivalent of our light stuff
  17. Looking for a pig lad if you are interested? thought you had a part time job
  18. Looking good - what sort of prices are you looking at? will they be framed? quality of paper? I might be intersted maybe for my dad in our farm office,
  19. Very good advice My Dad always tellls me never fall out with a boss however bad he maybe. After leaving last year after doing a ND in agriculture i got a job on a 6000 acre farm, on the arable side - about 20mins from my house. Ive done 3 summer seasons with them predominateley leading corn, taties and stacking bales etc. However now that I have left college I tend to get lots of variety. Ploughed about 170 acres this backend, bit of tanking, rolling, lots of loader work, bit of building, leading muck etc. And there was talk of my boss getting me going on the bateman - and I love it. The highlight for me though was in August my boss got me a 6930 for me to drive, which i call my own tractor as we all have our own tractors at work that we maintain a nd look after, already done nearly 800 hrs in half a year. I'm not trying to blow my own trumpet, but i really did blow my own trumpet (in the village band). Seriously, every one starts at the bottom but if you stick at it you normally work up. Just out of interest, you list your experience, could you enlarge on it for example how much ploughing you have done, tackle used, lambing experience etc.
