Another of my big American tractors just finished, an Allis Chalmers 8050 , with front wheel assist. These tractors were built from 1982 to 1985 and were among the last built before the demise of AC. the 8050 had 152 hp at the pto. The model is scratch built with parts from UH and Britains.

Yes 1/32, I also have an ERTL 1/16 model , so was able to scale this one by halving all the dimensions .

Didn't anyone notice the airbag, it inflates instantly, holding him in the seat then deflates immediately, allowing him to roll out through the broken screen, probably saved his life. Andrew

Talking of cupcakes , i wouldn't mind spending the day with Lorraine Pascal, or more technically perhaps with the management at Ford who made the decision not to build the Ford Ferguson 9N in Britain ,but go with the E27N instead, muppets ! Andrew

Don't think many people complained about the 3 cylinder in the 35X and 135, two of the best little tractors MF ever produced.

There's an Airfix Ferguson tractor kit on Ebay at the moment if anyones interested, no connection with the seller, just happened across it. I've seen several green ones, but as Theike says , the're usually a darker green ,not that almost lime green, also I've never seen a green one with the MF595 stickers as they were in the cheaper Britains farm range and didn't carry the MF branding. This is either rare or a "faked up" version. Andrew

Comparing Seans photos of the real thing and the model, I would say the slope of the bonnet is wrong, the real one doesn't flatten out towards the cab like the model does. The rear mudguards are too low, the back of the cab is too vertical and all four wheels are slightly too small.

Or ! , note the two adjusting levers on the side, one set of tynes could be lifted independantly of the others, therefore you have a " Scuffler " with plain or winged tynes without the need to change the feet, depending on the needs of the job.

Whoops !, just looked at the photos again, plain tynes in one direction and winged in the other, you're right Mark, must be to make it reversible for quick turns on the headland.{ ours only had tynes one way }

Wouldn't work Mark ,as the tynes would be the wrong way round.

Only reson I can see for this, is to allow the machine to clean itself of any dragging weed , by being pulled backwards.

This is a "Scuffler", used for inter-row cultivation in row crops, the winged tines only work about an inch or so deep ,just enough to cut the roots of any weeds, so would be easy enough for a horse to pull. We used to have one converted to three point linkage, that we used to "clean" swede and mangel crops.

Incredible sight indeed, but you don't have to go to Denmark to see a few of these working. Andrew Cameron of Letton Court , Hereford, runs four of the 4840/4880's on his farm. Super tractors ,and the four probably cost him less than one new 200hp tractor would.

Yes , just Clarkson being Clarkson, you can't take anything he says too seriously, but a serious sense of humour failure by the complainants.

That's how they get away with it, the person who rearends you is automatically at fault even if you deliberately set them up.

Ebay is like any other auction , the maximum bid wins, dosn't matter if you put the bid in at the start or in the last 4-5 seconds, if your bid is the highest you win. If you don't win then someone else has bid more, simple as that, so no point in whingeing about snipeing or whatever, if someone else wins the auction it's simply because they were prepared to pay more for the item.

Nice model, well done, have plans to make one of these myself, will be YKV 775 X ,my old 885XL. Just need to find some 1/32 scale 16.9 14 x 34 tyres on square center wheels. Just one small point , the drive shaft for the front axle is on the opposite side on the 885 , I,ve spent many "happy" hours unwrapping grass from it when baling.

I've got the loader version and it's the same, too much play and a lot of sag , don't know if you could try some sort of packing to reduce the play?
