  1. And a different wheelbase, engine and frame size. About the only thing UH got right with the 1394s apart from the cab is the engine which is same as is in the 1494 which carried over the 1490 engine - the same as the earlier DB 14 series. The 1390 engine is carried over from earlier 9 series. They should be doing a 1390 but really need to start from scratch! Good start would be to do 1/32 version of 995/6 that they do in 1/16.
  2. You can see the difference in this image from CT. Right to left 1394, 1494 and 1594. Shorter bonnet. Same engine. Different frame - thinner side ‘rail’ on the smaller model.
  3. I think the 1390/94 was essentially a 1410/1490 engine in a 990 frame.
  4. It’s the casting that worries me most as the frame on the 1394/990 etc was smaller - as was the axle. They have the 1/16 990 that they should scale down for the casting - and if they did they’d have multiple other possibilities. Let’s hope they do get it right. Otherwise who else will do them?
  5. Its a really professional kit - well worth the £55. An easy and enjoyable build.
  6. Thanks folks. You can find the kit at http://www.iconicair.com/
  7. I’ve taken an impressive Iconicair resin kit of the DB RAF tractor, painted it in Hunting Pink and added a few extra details to transform this model into what I’d say was a pretty realistic 1/32 model of the DB Industrial Tractor. First time using colour match spray cans and really happy with results. Light lenses from AK Interactive and decal courtesy of Martin at G&M Originals.
  8. Hope that you'll have some left for those of us not going to Spalding!!!?
  9. Couldn't agree more - Ertl have done really well with all the recent Case models and the 140 looks just like a rebadge - missed oportunity to get the Maxum right i would say!!! Come on Ertl!!!
  10. You're a lucky man DB1410 - all that white!!! I'm guessing that the 1410 is your favourite model - have you got a photo of it? Nice to see someone else with taste on here :D
  11. Agree that its a good model - possibly one of the best recent ones from Britians. Only two gripes - firstly that the roof detail is wrong - should be a 'overhead vision panel' like on the MXU, and secondly that there should be extended arches on over the rears. All in all though a good one. :)
  12. Seeing as there are many 1/16 variations of the 7000 series Magnum, I'd like to see at last a 1/32 scale model of this one - I'm sure that many other would too. Come on ERTL!!
  13. Fine job PDC!!!! I thought about doing that myself but the more I started looking at the shape of the bonnet and particularly the grille I thought better of it and hence the appeal to Britains!!!! Cracking model though.
  14. Thanks Deere -est. Any others in support??? ;)
  15. I've been really impressed with the MXU125, MX310 and Puma 210 models that Britains have produced recently. Seeing as CNH has revised the CVX range - is there a prospect of Britains/Ertl producing a new CVX model to match the quality of detailing on these other models rather than using the basic base and bonnet used on the current model of the CVX1150? :( :(
  16. Mine too. Will Martyn do a run of them and keep us all very happy?
  17. If you're going for the Britains Ford size of wheels the wheels from the Elite CX80 could be used for a 1294 - better for white but could be used for red - although I still think that the 990 wheels are about the right size for a 1290.
  18. Well finally managed to get around to trying this. Got the bonnet off both. CX80 bonnet staight forward as you described. To get the UH bonnet off however I had to remove the cab as the dash is screwed into the underside of the bonnet. Slight split in the windscreen now - doh!! Fit for scale but the UH casting will now have to be filed down a bit as the Britains bonnet is a thicker cast than the UH one. Looks good for scale. Hopefully get some more time to finish it off and post results sometime soon. :)

    CASEIH 996

Nah - just as well. Looks much better in DB white!!!
  20. Did the UH bonnet remain in one piece?
  21. Thinking of doing a CX80 conversion using the UH McComick CX105 chassis/platform and cab. Can anyone tell me how to remove the bonnet from an Ertl/Britains CX80 without damaging it? I imagine that it will be pinned through the body as with most Ertl's. Any advice greatfully received.
  22. Bill Have just noticed on ebay that RC2 released the 1/32 maxxum again in 2006? Are there plans for other releases of older models such as the 956xl? Or are these fakes???!!!! :(

    DB990

What a great job Nigel - that looks fantastic!! Only a couple of steps away from a 996 and fulfilling the 1/32 dream!!
  24. A thing of beauty it is! Where did you get the exhaust for it?
