Heres the good one i will show ya te rough one two! ;)

  2. It is a 1490. I have one of these, 83hp turbo, Hydrashift, same engine as the 1210 and 1212 but with the addition of the turbo. There were problems with the very early ones breaking cranks as they used the series 2 1200 engine but found that the strain on the crank at low torque would make it 'whip' and it would snap, this was modified by beefing up the journals which cured the problem. Good hedgetrimming tractor.

Dont forget the engine was beefed up from 1210/72hp 1212/73hp when they brought out the 1410/12 they had a bigger stronger crankshaft along with the turbo charged pistons rings valves ect ect...the first of these engines use to seize up due to over heat i think i forget but when they added the oil coolers they were a great engine almost un stopable.

The 1410/12 engine is the same unit as used in the 1490 except with a rottary injection pump and derated to 83hp.

  3. I only ask if she was a 1490 as the number on the rear wheel arch is missing, and i belive that second pic is a brochure shot of the DB 1490.

    And i said her  ;)  ;D

Have you got a 1490 Mr. Cool

I think i was getting worked up over notting! ;D Yes bazza we have at current 3 1490s 2wds 2 for breaking and one for refurbishment we tend to have at least one 1490 at any time in. ;)

  4. What do u mean buy that! >:(There a grand tractor what i cant understand is why the likes of the ford 7000 make so much money there scrap!a 5000 with a turbo is all they are horrible things to drive! The 1490 were a great all rounder with DBs turbo charged 83 hp engine it could be had new with either the hydra shift or 12F 4R gearbox. They were the first tractor around to have a sloped bonnet and curvy dezign!

The 1490 are a great machine for ploughing and road work row crop ect ect...

It sounds very cheap to me! ;)

  5. Hello Mandy

Dont give up yet i think there is a way what you have to do is put a rotavator on it and put it down into the roughest ground you can find and and keep disengaging and engaging the pto clutch for about 30 seconds dont do it any longer that this or u will damage the engines trush washers!

Try this first and if it doesent work tell me there is another way to!

    Regards

    Mr.Cool (DB1410) ;)

As most of you no our tractors were recently featured in tractor and machinery.

And menstioned was my uncles 1983 4wd 1690 a former demonstrator for a dealer any way the article was wrote up about a year ago when this tractor had around 27.000+ hours on the clock i havent looked at it since but id say its close to 30.000 or way more by now all genuine hours!

this DB 1690 and the other High houred DBs at the farm have stood the test of time and id say the 1690s likely to clock another 20.000 hours at least still.

This tractor was bought with very low hours only from demonstrasions so all the hours are geniuine.

Now i want to hear about any and all makes that can clock up that amount of hours with 1 to 2 owners almost trouble free.

  7. Me two i had about 6 wide wheel 5610s when i was younger and they got broke up by me cousins i had a white county to a tw 35 and 25 and a good few masseys but they all got broke up buy me cousins because i use to be minded by me anty. :'( :'(

  8. Belive me if you seen it up close you would of seen how roof it was hand painted the nose cone was rotting the engine block was badly cracked the brakes werent working and the cab had some beautifull patching done to the side panels.

But on the good hand its been currently overhauled by its new owner including a new block recondtion new nose cone new rear and front tyres and oversized front wheels and the list goes on...

The man how bought her has really become upsesd with david browns over the last 2 to 3 years his father had an 880 from new it was the only brown they had all the others were dextas fords ect..

Any way we were asked to recondtion an engine and other bits for the 880 which is now finished and he loves it so much that he bought a DB 780 995 1210 4WD 1212 and hes lookin out for a 1412 and a 1494 4wd to replace the 8210 he has because hes terafied it might go pourous.

That must be nerv racking haveing to wory about the engine going poures every day god help the owners out there how have several old fords.

  9. My brother is a fully trained mecanic and he has worked with most of the local dealers now i remember him saying to my father about the 390 theres a bulb and if it blows all the electrics go on the dash so it must be replaced so id say ur best checking all the bulbs in and around the inside of the cab.

  10. I cant remember if Ford 7000 ever got a 4wd conversion in real life ??? I dont think so but am sure someone will correct if im wrong.  However Im sure I did see a COUNTY 4wd conversion of the 7600 model that replaced 7000  so perhaps that might be a future model for Deerepower to make when the britains model gets its release ;)

Sure there was the 94T then some 7000 were fitted with roadless and selene axles from the factor two.

  11. I personly love britains 70s themed models it was by far the best time for tractors and it will be interesting to see whats next Hopefully the syncromesh DB range or interenasionals. My brother shane pointed out to me the other day something with the 7600 the exaust is in the wrong place!

Is the weight frame on the 7000 removeable? They dont seem to be putting as much effort into the 5000 7000 as the 4020 like the 4020 had steering and a removable front wight frame to.

Still britains were and are great model makers and hopefully will be for generations to come.

  12. Well we want to keep trying yeah the rear wheels are the right tipe used on the 1410 and 1412 and the earlyer stud tipe were very like the ones used on the rear of the 1212 and 1210s there is loads of different tipes they could make easily. ;)

They could easyly make the 990 995 996 to with a shortend chassis smaller wheels and different bonnet measurments ect..ect..
