My first completion in the October Challenge. This is a resin copy of a Sapphire Cosworth slot car. I had a huge learning curve with this, and had to repaint it a couple of times. Because it is a resin copy the inside of the model is very uneven, so the copy of the plastic windows from the original plastic model just won't work. Am going to leave it at this for now. Will look fine in the background of photos from the early 90s. Next up will be a pair of Artisan32 6 tonners with added silage sides.

When I took my T7060 out of the box the wheels on one side were hanging off. Thankfully a spot of glue fixed the problem. Now I know why it was sold at a big discount.

Those duals from the T7060 are monsters.

Thank you. I really like the Disco 2s. The green in particular, but the orange looks good as well. I think there was a blue one as well, but I might be wrong on that.

Okay, you can do one. The beet harvester.

The challenge is just a way of helping people get motivated, make the time, and focus on getting two done and finished. If it works we can do it again for November. There's a lot of stuff on people's workbenches there that I'd love to see finished.

I did the planking on my silage trailers by scoring sheets of balsa with a dead ballpoint pen and a straight edge.

Challenge Time. Pick two half finished models from your workbench, and commit to getting them finished by October 1st. I'll pick my two next week after I finish this job.

Famous last words. I remember my brain turning to mush the first time I saw the 165 with loader. Still get flashbacks when I see one. At various stages I had the 165 with hedgecutter, 5000 with back actor and 5000 with the side scoop. All I have left is the back actor and tyres. Lots of tyres.

I must track down a couple of those cabs. They'd make a great farm truck on a 1960s diorama.

Here in south east Ireland we're seeing another very hot week on the forecast, and the long range seems to be promising another one the following week. Winter crops seem to be fine, but spring crops are parched, especially on the lighter soils. Some dairy and beef boys have the animals in out of the heat and are either zero grazing or feeding out first cut. Second cut is looking very sparse. Those who are taking hay are getting a premium crop. A lot of tillage boys who didn't get spring cereals in the ground due to the rain (the what?) decided to put in Maize in May. If the crop comes through the drought it will be very valuable next winter. I've seen two very long range forecasts (which is a very hit or miss "science") who reckon July and August are going to be mainly dry. Maybe a week of rain in each month.
