  1. Warner Hall in Issue 1 of Model Tractor (pg 29) states that the E27N would have been matched with a 2 furrow plough, only being able to manage the 4 furrow on the lightest of soils.
  2. Ouch. OK. I can only plead a severe lack of time due to lecturing civil engineering (still) and looking after 3 Fenland parishes. I'll try Ben . Anyway, Spalding was good fun and a welcome break, even if I had to take a Harvest Festival before I could get away. Good to see some of the old faces, and new ones as well.
  3. Sorry folks, it is going to a good home in the Fens. Thanks Mandy for selling me that strip.
  4. Where did the grass tyres come from Marcus?
  5. Harsco (?) baler and Case working on grass in Thorney (Peterborough) area.
  6. Hope you washed and cleaned her properly before finishing that evening. Remember the old horsemen knew best.
  7. Massey 5455 with a spike harrow and a 375 with a beet seeder.
  8. Massey 135 with wide track setting using a 3 furrow non-reversible plough - BLISS
  9. There is no problem budgeting in your situation Ben. You have zilch to spend. It makes life much easier as you do not have to make any difficult decisions about what you can and can't get - the answer is nothing. However, they do say marriage brings compensations - I'm still living in hope, after 28 years
  10. Bit like John Deere's It is enough to make you shut your eyes
  11. I still grow it as a garden vegetable - curly kale. Very good for the winter months when there is not too much available in the way of fresh greens. You cook and serve it like cabbage. It tastes good too.
  12. Despite not collecting 1/16 I bought the Fergie and Fordson (for sentimental reasons) and am very pleased with them. Maybe the massey was a Friday model!
  13. I suspect it won't take you long to finish it Andy.
  14. I suspect that the site people will be well cheesed off as there is very little for them, compared to what there has been.
  15. If you took out the year's subscription then you get 6 issues.
  16. Same thoughts as me. I'll give it a few issues until my subscription runs out and then decide.
  17. Not likely to be the Royal Engineers as they are minefields, bridges and demolition as well as construction (having myself been part of the Corps of Royal Engineers for 24 years!). Most likely to be the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) who deal with engines (amongst many things).
  18. Mine arrived today. I regret to say that initial impression is not too good, thin and plenty of space on pages. I will want to see it approach past standards if I am to renew my subscription. A sad day. :'(
  19. Bet Mark wishes he had bought another model now, would have had no trouble with a Ford or NH!!

I did wonder but did not want to say anything in case it was the DTs!

    Bootiful grey machines.
  22. 2 problems with those drills. Lack of shelf space for the model, need new deeper shelves. Despite the big tyres the real thing must cause soil compaction.
  23. What about the ?90 for a 7710 with Twose backacter from the same guy?
  24. I checked this morning and she is a 500. Don't know about tip top. I heard she clogged up inside so was unable to complete the harvest. Farmer ended up topping and ploughing in the full crop about 1/2 acre!
  25. Since when have I been called Mart?
