robl12
G scale and 1 scale are the same and I think that 1:32nd is 1 scale if that makes sense g scale is a slightly heavier profile.

robl12
Checked a g scale website and on there it says it is the same as 1 scale but as I said before the track profile is heavier. I am sure Jez has mentioned the g scale is 1:32nd before.
Deere-est
G scale is bigger, I'm a member on a g scale railway forum. Just to keep an eye on scenery, buildings etc ;)
robl12
How much bigger tris Are these moulds the same as the original scaloox
Deere-est
It makes no odds to be honest. Jigstones is Scaloox. The moulds were imported from America by a guy here. He then made building sets with CD Rom instructions and sold the premade blocks under the name Scaloox. For whatever reasons, Scaloox is no longer obtainable so you have to import your own moulds from Jigstones now. I think each mould has a fairly decent lifespan. My 'stone' buildings are Scaloox and if they are mean't to be G scale. . . . who'd know Go for it Rob!
robl12
I am going to order a set of moulds ;D just trying to work out what to cast them in But think this may be a case of trying resin and a plaster mix and see what comes out best. G Scale is 1:22 Look here for a comprehensive Scale Chart - scroll to the bottom of the page http://rail.felgall.com/wsib.htm Obviously aimed at Railway modellers!! Tractorman810
i know it took some filing off to square the blocks up at times, came of almost like a plaster dust, but was a lot harder than any plaster i have come across
robl12
Might have to try some plaster type mixes and see how they turn out.

Tractorman810
they list stuff on that website in the catalouge part, but i have never heard of it before, must be a uk version of it mind, they do say dont use plaster on it on the guides mind
Deere-est
The early stuff was plaster like, the later blocks were more coarse. If you email Jigstones the woman there will give you lots of help. She'll be happy to advise products to use and what the Scaloox blocks were made of. Just drop them a line, it'll be worth it
robl12
Just dropped her an email Tris Looked at there site and it gives a list of products you can use but all are american so hopefully she will be able to shed some light into what the scaloox blocks were made of. robl12
I now know what they use in making these blocks.... quick setting concrete, should contain little sand as this effects the finish and level of detail. 1 mould set has been ordered ;D
Deere-est
Well done that man. You can now cast them for something to do while away, bring them home and be ready to build something straight away.
robl12
Hopefully they will be there soon, then let the fun commence. Funny you should mention that Tris was planning on bringing back some plastruct and glue and start making my gates.
