Udimore
I sold the same set not as good nick about 18 months ago :(when the item was not fo sale just display at a local model fair) but this dealer twisted my arm to let him have it for 250 quid i was reasonably happy although may well be worth more, yours looks in better nick than mine was. Great set though.
Andy
A mint set I think would be worth ?250, Ive seen a few on ebay move for ?150 - 200 but in pretty bashed up condition. It will definitely be a set that will keep increasing in value.

james f
How come Britains/Ertl/RC2 dont do gift sets any more. I think theyre a great start for a youngster, and price shouldnt be an issue since people seem to have loads of money for toys and such like nowadays
Andy
I think the problem of weight and them being shipped from China is one of the reasons, a good question though which I will put to them at the next meeting.
JC
They do a gift set, the one with the unbranded fendt and trailer etc.....
Andy
Its been scrapped.....I think, or will be very soon They do an equestrian one, forgot about that too, not cheap at ?20 though! The new style defender will be put in the set soon.
IH885XLMAN
Britain's could re release it with a ford bubble cab ford 7600 and a MF 575 as a classic series and i really think it would sell

IH885XLMAN
why dont Britain's fetch out that grey fergy harry Ferguson driving it but with out the driver like they did with the David brown ?it would go well against siku's attempt
james f
that David Brown released as part of the prestige series was a re-hashed Ertl model, not off the same tooling as the other limited edition ones with the drivers
IH885XLMAN
oh right i thought it was the same as the collectors Britain's with David driving that then ertl released it as as run of the mill then became Britain's the only difference i notice is the rear hitch the decaling and the driver and plinth
MJB1
if the DB was a rehashed ERTL it probably started it's life in green & white as an OLIVER
IH885XLMAN
with all that said the grey fergy that britains did about 10 yrs ago on a plinth should be on genral release i think
NIGEL FORD
if the DB was a rehashed ERTL it probably started it's life in green & white as an OLIVER 'fraid not mjb1 but I did do one for myself back in the 90's OLIVER 600 As for the Fergie, I guess they realise how appalling it was. FNHIR
I have a feeling that OEMs probably don't want their machines sold in boxes with models by other manufacturers?

Deere-est
I don't have any Britains sets. Wish I did though, this is another lovely one.
ploughmaster
Neither do I (not that I would have room for them now!). When I started collecting seriously in the late eighties, nobody seemed very interested in the 70's and 80's sets; sellers were having to price them at less than the sum of the contents to get rid of them. I had several chances of various of the large single tractor sets with either Ford 6600, MF 595, Deutz DX110 or Fiat 880 for around £25 each. With hindsight, I should have bought them all! The two tractor sets were quite expensive, so I don't imagine there was a big market for them originally, so I doubt if they were produced in great numbers. Certainly rarely seen now. tractorbob
i have that set ...i bought it about 6 years ago.. for £15 private sale ..fella didnt have a clue
NIGEL FORD
I remember buying that set from Battle toy shop (whenever it had been out for a while) when I noticed that the rear wheels on the tractors were the "windowed" type and mine were the earlier solid versions. I remember it stretched me financially for a few weeks and nearly didn't buy it.
