BC
I see Taylor's the auction room in Montrose are holding an auction on Saturday 29th November 2008. I hope I can make it down especially for the Border Fine Arts but I don't know at this point in time whether I will manage to get to it or not. BC
Well as many of you know I really only just collect Britain's / Ertl and Border Fine Arts in the model world. I see the following in the sale tomorrow 2310 : BRITAINS 9676 ALL-PURPOSE LAND-ROVER BOXED AND BRITAIN'S "PINE LODGE STABLES" LAND-ROVER AND HORSE BOX AND 15 SECTIONS OF WHITE 3 RAIL FENCE (£60-£80) 2323 : BRITAINS 9520 MASSEY-FERGUSON TRACTOR IN WINDOW BOX (£70-£90 These are the auction house estimated prices. Anyone care to hazar a guess what they are worth or could make I know it is always difficult not seeing a model in flesh and auction prices can vary depending on who wants what. jdc
I'm trying not to let TT see this thread -ignorance is bliss (for her) ;D
BC
Ok I won't PM and tell her John ;) This is the first time I've seen Taylor's do BFA in any number. Usually there is a yearly sale at Aberdeen and Northern at Thainstone Inverurie every August. The "expected" Taylors are prices are low but then again these are only a guide. the downside to Taylors is that the commission including VAT is almost 20% which in my opinion is quite high. Hope to get along for a nosey and you never know what might take my fancy between the two sales ;D
jdc
Not a fan of buyers commission - especially 20% + vat :o
BC
Me neither John. The last time I was at that auction house comission was 19% plus 17 1/2 % VAT on the commission which is kinda steep. Other things cropped up for me on Saturday so Ididn't make it down to Montrose.... maybe just as well ;)
