Scotty12 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I think this is the right place to post this. My question is why do contractors with the umbilical system sometimes use a grain trailer with a pipe coming out of it? Has anyone else seen this? I saw W.J. Stewart (i think) using it! Quote
jcb4cxkid Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 probably to store slurry if there a long way from the slurry store Quote
TM190 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Aye, sealed trailer. Boom on tanker into trailer then out the pipe Quote
Tractorman810 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 why not use a slurry tanker then blake?? bit risky with a grain trailer if the back door came open, seen one down here that has a tank on a low lader for the same job, i asume he just drags it ion when needed so still has the trailer Quote

CJ Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 yes completely sealed trailer would have been able to get pics of one working here but the tractor with spreading plate is 1ft too wide to get up the lane bloody telegraph pole Quote

Murray Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 would it be cheaper than buying a tanker ? well nothing comes cheap i guess it would be for quickness aswell, dont need to aim that hole the same plus usuall people usually have an old trailer lying about so just as easy Quote
CJ Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 if you have a 14t grain trailer sealed up it will hold 2 - 3 tankers bepending on size and is easier to fill into with the ferry tankers. Quote
Scotty12 Posted March 4, 2009 Author Posted March 4, 2009 Thanks for the information everyone i was always wondering about this one! Yeah has anyone got any pics?? Quote
