I now have 2 sets of wheels for my 590, the pavt type will probably be the chosen ones though as they would suit a loader tractor better as there much heavier than the steel pressed type

the 80 loader came from perfect 32, I bought 2 of them in august 2013 and am only getting round to fitting the first one now, the 2nd loader will be fitted to another chosen tractor when time allows, the 590 2wd will now join my 595 mark 2 and in time will be joined by another one or two of the 500 range....the loader is fully functional and ive also made the pipework to complete it

I have today began building a batch of 5x NEW HOLLAND 339 and 342 double chop foragers, there will be 3x 339s and 2x 342s built and some are available to buy, they can be done in either the early red and yellow or the later all yellow livery

Thanks lads.. Tractorman I bought my 2x loaders with no attachments at all. I made the muckfork just simply to have something to picture it with. What I really want is a half ton potato box tipper. There were a few popular makes such as TONG and MC MASTER, but quite a few local steel fabricators also made there own versions of these, to operate these the loader needed a bar attached at the frame where it reads 80, and then a wire rope, chain or box sectioned bar ran from it right down to the tipper to keep it level as there weren't many self levelling loaders around in the 70s and 80s, the box of course had to remain level at all times and ive used all 3 but the box section had the advantage over the rest as it was much safer but also much more rigid, the chain and wire rope tended to allow the tipper to tip upwards when down on the ground driving into a box, I will in time be making a tipper for my 590. There were lots of potato growers around me in the 70s and 80s and a few still remain but a very larger percentage of them used 80 loaders to tip boxes, ive also tipped boxes with the 40 loader and the original tubular fergie loader on a 35, the 80 loader was so much better than the 40 it replaced, more strength, easier attached and detached and had no awful shear bolts like the 40, the shear bolts were the 40s downfall and not nice to shear when you were coming across a field with a full box on the front.

Many may have noticed on the UH 590 that the rear half shafts aren't set level, one side of the tractor sits lower than the other side, I removed both halfshafts and set them level, the wheel track width is also much too wide on the 4wd 590 so this also had to be narrowed. The bonnet on the 2wd version is much shorter than on the 4wd and this must be shortened at the front, then the little cut in the 4wds version must be filled until it runs solid down to the back of the axle with no cut in it like the 4wds version, the underside driveshaft must be removed and then the tombstone cut to allow fitment of the pma 2wd axle, the front weight frame must be removed just like on the real one and the loaders belly support frame then made and fitted, my whole tractor was repainted so as the loader matched the tractor and I decided to have the half silver cab version and this involves a lot of careful masking to do the 2 colours, all wheels too were repainted and the decals made when the correct bonnet length was cut and measured, id only do work like this for myself as it simply wouldn't pay to do it for others, a lot of time and parts involved also, but it has been on my wishlist for some time and in fairness UH have made quite a good job on the base model I used. More 500 series will in time be done and id like a 4wd version maybe with a red cab but the track width will have to be rectified and this will means slicing the front axle, a job for another day

Here is 2 pics of previously built NEW HOLLAND 339 in yellow and 342 id red ive built, these are actually my own, im currently building a batch of 2x 342s and 3x 339s of which 2 are sold, so there is 3 models available and can be done in either colour scheme

Thank you, im particularly fond of the 500s and definitely will be adding to my collection of them, the UH 1080 opens up new avenues for parts and I will be experimenting in time, the 590s are actually holding there value well for UH at £25-?£30. But strangely the 1250s can be bought on ebay for as little as £23, I wonder would they have sold better without duals? they are a nice model too

Just completed batch of 5 New Holland double chops, 1x red 339  2x yellow 339 and 2x yellow 342, just one yellow 339 is left for sale from the batch, ive no plans to make any more of the 339 or 342 models for a long time

339 and 342. Its sometimes hard to get moving on with new stuff when some previous builds are requested but im planning on not covering previously built machines and instead trying to move on with small batches of new builds from here on

Last night I've began building 2x SCANSTONE 3 bodied ridgers which are 2 row machines, one is for my own collection and one will be for sale, I went to start this project but realised it was going to be a lot more complicated than I thought so I had to set it aside for a while to further study it and work out how exactly it could be done, I'm now looking forward to the end product

I will soon be beginning another small batch of 5'6" drum mowers from yesteryear, so far ive covered the MF70 and the DEUTZ FAHR KM22 so this time it will probably be a PZ 165 and im expecting to make around 4 or 5 only of these.. The SCANSTONE ridgers builds have commenced and only 2 of these are being built and 1 will be staying here with me. I will only be concentrating on 2 or 3 builds picked out randomly rather than the previous yearly plans I had worked to, I like having the option of randomly choosing an item to replicate rather than having the whole year planned.

A few pics of progress on the SCANSTONE ridgers, there has been a lot of fiddly work and fine soldering involved so far but hopefully im now over the worst of it. Only 2 of these machines are being built and 1 is for myself.

2 more pics, the next time I picture them they will be completed. I have previously built the single row ridgers from Dowdeswell, grimme and reekie but these 2 row machines are much more complicated due to the folding down sections, this adds significantly more time and work in the build and a hell of a lot of soldering, but the finished product will reflect the extra input
