Gav836 Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 it could be something to do with the tractors history, maybe grounds maintainence etc, painted in a companies colour scheme something like that Quote

Gav836 Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Take a look here for your mudguards, skins are under ?35 each? http://www.dunloptractorspares.co.uk/ Quote
Gav836 Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 No problems, just reading the Classic Tractor magazine and saw the advert. If you've got a copy take a look through it, some places are listing them as cheap as ?22 each skin Quote
Pingu Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 I better have a detailed look then in it then Quote
Gav836 Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 certainly worth a try, i know how hard it is trying to find parts for vintage tractors, i had a big problem finding bits when i restored a 1948 Nuffield with my late father. Quote
Pingu Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 Its like trying to find a needle in ahystack with some bits i've searched for a petrol cylinder head for nealy a year now Quote
Gav836 Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 next time i go to see Charlie Atkin i'll have a poke about his yard, see what Fergies he's got in for breaking for you, i know there was one with spark plugs in there but don't know whether or not it was petrol or tvo Quote
Pingu Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 OK thanks gavin i've asked all my local dealers etc and theres nothing Quote
Gav836 Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Thats ok. It was the same with my Nuffield as that was a TVO model, took a while to find the right spark plugs, and then they were ?16 each, never did find new mud guards for it so we had to re-engineer some off a later model. Its the only downside to restoring a rarer model tractor. Quote
Pingu Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 Yer there a pig to get parts for :D Quote
NewHolland2 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Skins are all well and good if you have the right tools to take the original mud-guard apart and fix the new skin onto the original frame. I'm sure when done properly skins are fine, however I'm sticking with full mud-guards with brackets to save any hastle...... Quote
