Close to the town i live they are building a new railroad, now i am not much in to construction stuff but found this interesting, they are using loads of sand to build this railroad but they are left with exes blackdirt, so they offer this for free to the nearby farmers, i do not know what the advantage is for the farmer but it made for some nice pictures  ;)

Wow! Erik that is quite a variety of machinery at work. I like those Terra-Quad-Pillers! :D Smart kit or what?!

We are also having a very dry time here and my friend worries about the potatoes bruising because of hard soil clods.

Your friend is right, here some farmers wait for rain others are putting water on the night before they harvest the potatoes, that is making a lot of extra cost burning diesel on irigators

I would of thought you guys would of used power for irragation Erik?.Power is cheaper than diesel in the long term here.

Very nice pictures you have taken,I have been in Holland for 1 day a few years ago looking around with my German mate and I don't think I've ever seen such good looking soil.

The dutch farmers in NZ always own the farms with the best land.
