B O R
Been at this now for a while off and on,note the pick up,pins inserted and cut to lenght afterwards...1st picture here is the drawbar in its new higher position, tricky getting this right as the main axle cant go in to near the end,you can see the mixture of materials used here so far,do what you have to,thats my motto...TIP FOR MAKING A BALER...always have your bale chamber made first and work around it
B O R
started with a krone baler,a lot of cutting to do to the bottom chassis which is the bit i use, drawbar must be cut out and replaced higher up,brass handrails made and soldered,a lot of time spent here, complete bale chamber made to scale from plasticard......the little soldered brass rods hanging down in pic 2 are for worklights to be fitted later, detail is the key
B O R
theres a serious amount of work involved in these balers, especially filing and sanding

B O R
this is where i am now,its taken me i think 4 days getting this far, bits to do yet include painting front rims, fitting main wheels(there not properly fitted yet),fixing pto shaft, painting jacks silver and a few more things, have a new MF190 well on in the build for myself.....oh ive a lovely piece of brass chain bought for the tailgate
B O R
this is my best baler build to date, glad i had a customer willing to wait,im putting worklights around the brss frame and finishing it to the last
B O R
a mixture of brass, plasticard, siku baler, and lots of p38 to achieve the awkward shapes

B O R
these are seriously time consuming and awkward to build, but are the business when complete and one of the best balers of all time
B O R
last picture for now, next time you see it it,ll be complete...Flash is picking it up at moira if i dont change my mind and keep it...(joking)something that started out as crude as a siku krone has ended up like this
Deere-est
Mint!! One question though, given the amount of work going into this and your foragers etc which you build from scratch . . How come you use an existing model and chop the drawbar around? Is it so you have a solid chassis on which to build up from?
martin
very nice brian a lot of work has gone into that one
B O R
just saves me making a complete brass frame to begin with,as a model maker i always eye up things i can use and if all fails then turn to the brass and away you go but your into more time then with brass
B O R
so hope you like it so far Flash and it wont be easy giving it over to you and wont have my new 190 finished to picture with it as i havent even ordered the decals yet and am awaiting brass coming to make the handrail but itll be along soon

B O R
so because of the siku chassis many would say it would nt be a scratchbuild but as you see 90% of the work comes after you have the chassis cut down,if i didnt have a siku chassis it wouldnt be the end of the world,it,d just take an extra 4 or 5 hours to make it from brass.............BY THE WAY WOULD ANYONE HAVE A BRITAINS SUPERDIG THEY WOULD SELL AS I NEED MORE OF THESE WHEELS
