MODELFARMER
Heard this from a JD salesman the other day, Oh Crikey a green Manitou, Genius, Hesson Baler, now would me 69 work one?? Oh hope those are true :P anyone else heard anything??
Stuarty C
nothing here but i like the sound of the manitou
griffithsbros
Why buy Manitou when they bought Matbro then got out of making forklifts a few years later? because a large part of the jd dealer network are also manitou dealers
Murray
manitou is going donw hill anyways not even jd will pick them up we cant fault the jcb we had on demo, i also heard theres a few redocks coming over here 8)

nashmach
Only rumours though and there are so many of them going around about dealers at the minute that I think they should all be bust at this stage if I believed them all :D
Deere-est
because a large part of the jd dealer network are also manitou dealers That side of it makes sense. Although not hugely popular there are a few JD loaders around me still. In all fairness thanks to Matbro they (JD) had a great loader to offer but if they couldn't sell them then what would change peoples' mind in the future? We don't have a JCB dealer for at least 20miles but they still rule the roost. Not sure JD could break that now unless they had silly price/warranty offerings
Tractorman810
i would guess if they bought them they would keep the brand name running, would make sence if they did ,gets a big market share for them
Eurodeere
If by Hesson you mean Hesston, they have been integrated into the MF and Challenger brands of Agco, why would Agco now sell? Deere found that building telehandlers for agriculture was not worthwhile, they may see an opening in construction sales in the long term, which Manitou are big in. These rumours of who Deere are going to buy come around every year, best to wait untill the contract is signed than speculating. I still haven't seen the deal done on Deere buying JCB after the rumours from recent years.

archbarch
that could be a death blow for Manitou, if its true. The worst thing that happened to Gem sprayers wase the Case ih takeover.

griffithsbros
my brother told me that deere have got all the parts and tooling for the 3200 and 3400 in storage so they could just start up again if they wanted to so there would be no need to buy manitou
