B O R
started out with a ertl DB 1690 but wanted to do something different so decided on a CASE 1594 as theres 2 locally to me.there i quite a few differences in the DB 1690 and CASE 1694 models, the headlights are further up the grill which means making two new grills and inserting real headlights, grab rails to the cab, making and fitting that air box on bonnet, there is a few pictures during the conversion,i done this conversion over a number of weeks, its for myself and put a serious amount of work in to it

B O R
more, the air breather was made from a brass rod with flat top fitted and then shaped to suit,a lot of these classic convos you have to make a lot of the parts
B O R
more, the cab has gone through major modifications to get it right, the standard cab has awful looking thick lower pillars and ugly steps attachted which i removed and filed down to get nice slim pillars, then i added my own steps
B O R
made an interior, including handclutch for pto and handbrake, pic 2 shows real headlights fitted and the top grill made and fitted, individual pieces of plasticard shaped

B O R
more, showing the worklight fitted and chassis coming together, you may not be able to notice but in picture 2 ive actually gone to the extend of making cab mounts fitted to the chassis to rest the cab on like the real one has got........picture 2 shows the chassis ready for the floorpan to be fitted, the untidy bits at side are where i removed the paint by knife to give the araldite better grip when the bonnet comes down over it and the brass rod projecting from bonnet is for the exhaust to slot down into when model near complete
B O R
bach wheels are mf 5480 rims with complete centres cut out and replaced with valtra c square centres as there perfect, also in pic is the old DB1690 wheel centres removed, these only suit the DB models as CASE changed to square centres and they carried right on throught to the end of the CASE-IH 94 range
B O R
front weights are individually made from plasticard set into a new brass frame,a lot of time spent here

Archies pike
A very nice model you have produced there,no doubt a lot of time and patience to achieve the finished article.
B O R
sunroof detail,i always think when making a sunroof you have to cut right down into and throught he roof as ive seen them done with only the flap raised but no hole, its nice when you can see right down in and the light shines down on the driver
B O R
yes man,a lot of time and researching the differences in the real machines to get the model perfect, when CASE took over DB,there was actually a few DAVID BROWN 1694s turned out before the CASE decals appeared, they look different as the chassis is still orange, but this is the main livery of the CASE 1594....was tempted to do a DB 1694 but as there rare id say people would say i got the colour scheme wrong so decided to stick with the main production 1594 model.....when the CASE version of the 94,s came along they continued to use these type weights for thr 1594/1694 models and the later CASE and all CASE-IH models had a different more square type weight fitted
B O R
the decals(which came wrong twice) i bought were the wraparound type with headlights on the decal but i wanted real headlights so adjusted the decal around my new lights, its alot of extra work though
B O R
im going to get diarama pictures up soon as ive the perfect forager and trailers to display with this tractor at moira show, but here is my non MF classic tractor collection so far,you can see im getting on well with it,a big step JD3650,a FIAT 100-90,a IH 784,and my CASE 1594,whats next on the classic list, quite a lot but therell be more colours added

B O R
the only way id ever do another one of these is if the customer supplied me with ALL the parts and id be charging for labour only,it is a big job as you can see from my build pictures but a lovely model..........and a bit of extra work would be needed if this was to be a 4wd version as theres practically no front wheel type available to donor from to replicate the CASE or CASE-IH type fitted to the real machine
Barry
WOW WOW WOW In "real life", is the 1690 bonnet bigger than the 1490 bonnet? Would love a 1490
