Lady Ferguson
Thanks guys - still don't know if mine flash or not, but doesn't seem I can buy 4cm lights that do \
TM190
Thanks guys - still don't know if mine flash or not, but doesn't seem I can buy 4cm lights that do \ If you can only buy 4mm LEDs that dont flash then all you need is a flasher unit i think, just put it in the ciruit and it will cut the power on and of i think.. not 100% tho

Would this be any good for a model tractor conversion (using my 4cms lights) or would it be too big to put in the tractor? http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=22544&C=SO&U=strat15 Thanks again
Tractorman810
is there a decent model shop near you mandy?? one that does train set stuff, as they do small led flashers ect for that, i have seen boxes of them down mine in town, do 4mm up to 10, but i think they do smaller to try a search for antics online as thats the shop i have seen them in and use
Lady Ferguson
if it is 1 /32 in that scale then 4 cm ( 40 mm ) is 4 ft 3 in , which is some size of flashing light . 10 mm ones would be equivelant to just a tad over 1 foot . sorry... me being a numpty... of course 4cms is the overall length They are 10mm

I've sold them as 'flashing' (because that's how I was sold them) - but I've never used them myself and don't want to give him the wrong advice \

TM190
I would highly doubt that they would flash if you just add power to them, Just look like a standard LED to me.. But Again im only about 95% sure.. Can you not just try them? battery and piece of wire?
denis086
there are definately flashing and non flashing leds we used them in school for metalwork projects and your better off putting in a resister as they burn out the leds i think if you dont
Lady Ferguson
These arrive from Maplins this morning - but they're huge compared to the ones I normally sell . I could buy shorted ones, but the diameter is the same - is this because they have to house the resistor and BIC - or can I get smaller diameter version?
