BC
At the Lakeland show at the weekend Andy was speaking about hearing about a Toy fair / swap meet at Falkirk on 5th December 2009. has anyone else heard or know any more about this one I did a google and got a shop called McLaren Models in Falkirk ( 01324 624102 ) so if noone knows any more about it I will give the shop a call and see if they can tell me about it. BC
Thanks for the feedback Joe I may well attend if its a special one. Have you any idea of the trader's who are attending and what is likely to be on sale For me I'm only really interested in the older boxed Britain's / Ertl and in MIB or well boxed examples. catkom3
Sorry Bill, don't know which traders will be there,But probably all the usual suspects, similar to Aberdeen,Dundee etc, there is normally a good amount of older models, prices can be a bit high, whatwith it being near Christmas, must phone Norman, see if he's going Regards Joe. Hi Bill Funnily enough I was in that very shop the other week after my other half told me there 'were some of those tractors you collect'. Indeed, there are a handful (literally) of UH tractors. Mostly a shop for rail enthusiasts though.

No problems Joe. I'll give the organisers a call and see what they can tell me about which traders are coming and what is likely to be on offer. It's 136 miles from me and well I really need to get on with unfinished projects at home before the end of the year. I'll PM you nearer the time to let you know if I'm coming down or not. Norman now that is a man I really ned to get in touch with next year and go up and view his collection / displays. Anyone I have spoken too says it is out of this world. BC
Well I have just come off the phone to Maclaren models. The man told me that the monthly ones held on the 1st Sunday of the month normally had 125 tables but the big one SCOTMODEL in December attracts around 350 tables some of which are displays. I can't think why I have never heard of this event before and I'm seriously of thinking of going down for the day to it on the 6th December 2009. BC
Thanks James. Was on to google and multimap last night and see an alternative route i.e. Perth then the Kincardine Bridge way is shorter at around 119 miles from me. I may well go down to this event to see what it is like assuming the roads aren't iced up ;)

BC
Well left home at 6.45am and stopped for breakfast at Kinross services approx 100 miles. Arrived at the show at 9.45 and had a relaxing read of some magazines before joining the queue to get in at 10.45. Boy of boy by opening time there was along long queue. Had a quick run around the three halls to find out that there was not really any older Britain's for me but what there was seemed (to me) vastly overpriced E.g. No 9527 a Ford 5610 at £ 90.... come on 1/2 that surely On same stall another Banded Rainbow box No 9519 a Green County 90 at £ 24 ... again more than double the price I paid for one but in a Chevron Rainbow box Another stall No 09448 a Valtra Valmet 115 City for £ 30 which again was over the top in my opinion Never mind I did spot 2 items to my liking and then well had to buy a 3rd to bring my collection to 600. See BC's Other Britain's topic if interested. It was a busy show and it was nice to meet up with catkom3 ( Joe ) on here and Big A - Andy and Mrs Andy. Oh and Joe thanks for that map you sent on the roads for using the new Kincardinebridge. They were spot on ;)
