moogie
If i were to make a Massey Ferguson 595 4X4 what would be the best and easiest front axle to use? The Fiat DT 880 front wheels are about the correct size, would this axle work? I would like the steering to still work than to be fixed. Thanks, Noel. Tractorman810
most people use a old deutz dx 92/110 axel for them, i think the pin fits with no altering therefore leaves the steering working from the wheel, not seen one with the fiat axel before, doesnt mean to say it won't work mind

Tractorman810
i have a feeling the pin hole on the fiats slightly different? might be deeper or shorter so the wheels either wont fit, or are slack, hence why the deutz ones uses as paul also mentioned, i have a fiat one and a mf chassis i nthe shed so can try for you before you pull anything apart if needed

Still have to buy a donor tractor, so it would save a bit of time and money. Thanks.
powerrabbit
If you read David Pullens first book on Britains tractors, it tells you which castings were used on different models and there were several that used the same casting so lend themselves to these sort of conversions. I know this is off the point a little but thought worth mentioning, especially to our younger members that may be getting interested in converting. Question
moogie
If i were to make a Massey Ferguson 595 4X4 what would be the best and easiest front axle to use?
The Fiat DT 880 front wheels are about the correct size, would this axle work? I would like the steering to still work than to be fixed.
Thanks, Noel.
