Drive belts/hose

Question

Posted

Quick couple of questions - what is the best thing to use for drive belts - i.e - the type used to connect drive pulleys on combines etc

Also what is best for hydraulic hosing - i.e as used on implements - to connect to the tractor spools?

Any info/advise much appreciated.

Not to sure what you could use for belt's,you do get elasticated thread, which might be ok,but you would need to be able to conceal the knot where you tied it,hydraulic hoses are simpler,PMA / Artisam 32 make hoses with various connectors http://www.artisan32.com/category.php?id_category=13

os Accurate Armour do one meter length's of PVC flexible chord,http://www.accurate-armour.com/showaaproducts.cfm?category=7&subcategory=44

i tend to use a fine elastic wire thats used for neckless making and alikes, and also a fine black coated wire i use at work, both will glue on if you have somewhere to hide the glue point

Sean - is the fine black coated wire available to the general public?

thanks again for both responses.

Yeah it's freely avaiable mate , any hobbies/ craft shop will sell it , there's two types , one is a fine wire strand but my preffered one is the elastic one I use this for all sorts , hoses, belts?ect . Just have a look in their neckless making area for it
