Lord Ferguson
That used look is fantastic - can you tell us how you did that please - I would love to have a go with some of my models
Mattias71
I use collors from Polly S, they have a kit with different "dirtcollours", mud, dust, oilyblack, rust etc. And then its just to paint, thats how I do
Lord Ferguson
Very brave to make a model that good and then paint it like that - I take my hat off too you really. Do you airbrush them on then
Mattias71
First time I "aged" a model I swallowed more then twice times before painting, but now its just a part of the work But it never been the same result twice. I use a ordinary brush, only airbrush the blue paint.
Lord Ferguson
thanks for that - it is really effective - they are some of the nicest models I've seen on here - the aged look really does it for me
Mattias71
Yep, the modells looks more "alive" But I'm not going to age the 8210! :D
NIGEL FORD
Well done Mattias, thanks for posting them. We had a customer for several years from down the west country that used to do similar effects, even rubbing the mudguards back to bare metal where the drivers gritty hands would have constantly held them, wire brushing the spadelug spikes and centre rib of the front wheels etc. Last time we saw him at TOYTRAC he brought several along to show us a couple of years ago, since then we've heard nothing and as he said he'd not been well we fear the worst. Other enthusiasts have expressed the same concerns at not having heard from him & several similar finished SCALEdown tractors appeared on ebay last autumn that a dealer had aquired (from his partner we wonder). Keep up the great work,' looking forward to seeing the progress.
