chris.watson Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 how do all. as we all know, bateman and househam are two very popular makes of sprayer. why has no manufacturer made a good model of them yet. is the market to small?. please post your thoughts. Quote
MuirHillyBilly Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) Not sure about the trailed ones Chris but I guess the self-propelled sprayers are rare due to demand and the ones that do exist are pretty expensive. Generally I think demand is limited as there have been few sprayers released in recent years when compared to other implements like tankers, ploughs and trailers. There are a few Amazone ones I think, or a really rare John Deere one (based on the Britains one) Edited January 25, 2012 by MuirHillyBilly Quote
sparrow legs Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 have to disagree slightly muri, most farms round us have selfpropeled sprayers, mainly houseman then bateman, were i work have a few jd ones out also. i agree its about time the model world made a common make of self propeled sprayer. MuirHillyBilly Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Sorry Sparrow I meant the model versions were scarce not the real life ones so we agree Quote
Manor Farm Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 three oaks are hopefully make a bateman this year and has the plans ready Quote
Niels Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 They are popular within the UK and there's the odd one or two on the Continent but especially in the motherland of models, i.e Germany/France, there are none so it is not going to happen! Unless either factory approaches a manufacturer and then it could happen BUT, a big but. Sprayers are one of the most awful machines to build in model, together with beet harvesters, as they are so complex and so many details. It will cost loads (look at Norscot's RoGator) and even on a small scale they will cost even more. Sorry chaps, get the paint brush and super glue out! Quote
alpinefocus Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 we have the plans for the bateman, spalding april it will be there (i hope) Dan Quote
Tractorman810 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 would be nice to see a good bateman done, good few working this way, along with a few knights, the odd jd and 1 case i know of to, however most do seem to still use trailed or mounted ones Quote
Deere-est Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Made in Devon, always found that odd seeing as compared to the rest of the UK arable isn't the big deal down there. Niels knocked it on the head though, he is quite right and it stands true for most UK branded machinery. Quote

Manor Farm Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 i think you'd be able to sell quite a few kits i'd buy one i'd also buy kit trailers if you did them i think the bateman would not be done as a kit form as its alot of work. Quote
masseyjack590 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 i think the bateman would not be done as a kit form as its alot of work. yeah but it'd only really be assembling it wouldn't be to difficult for someone who's done a few conversions/scratchbuilds Quote
