I'd better not leave the green and yeller ones out.

On the subject of JD's, I was most impressed with the performance of the newer dealer demo models. They seemed to be effortlessly pulling ploughs and cultivator trains without any change to the engine note whereas other makes started to grunt a bit when put to work

Passed a potato team in action today, Claas on the harvester, Valtra and Case on the trailers. There was also a McCormick on the road but I didn't get the camera out in time for that one but as it was the same type of trailer I am assuming that it was the same crew

I mentioned in the UH new releases topic a while ago that I had a friend who had a County 1174 and I would see if I could get some photos for comparison with the model version. I managed to catch up with him today ploughing in green waste

Met up with David today to visit a farm close to me. I can't show some of the photos yet as they are going to feature in a future article that he is working on however, I did get photos of somew of the other equipment around the place.

This John Deere 4440 was recently dyno tested and was putting out 153hp at the shaft, unfortunately it has got a flat tyre so couldn't come out to play

It always amazes me that sometimes equipment gets left to rot in the nettles, this is s set of Dowdeswell discs. We used to have a thread called "hedgerow heroes and forgotten friends" and these woul have fitted into that category

I also noted that there seemed to be blue paint underneath the Dowdeswell green, were these originally Parmiter discs and then just overpainted  and sold by Dowdeswell?

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to accompany David, The Tractor Twitcher, Laley on a farm visit not far from my house to see a prairie monster, Steiger Panther. The full story is appearing in the latest Classic Tractor that is in the shops today and so I can now post a few of the photos that I took on the day, including a couple of David at work.

Thanks for helping me pin this story down in the first place Mike, had a great time with you and Frank that morning. As part of the report I was also able to speak with the previous owners of the tractor too. Delighted with how the story has turned out in Classic Tractor.
