IH885XLMAN
Well its been a long time coming (over a year) but last night i had a go at casting a couple of chassis .Didnt turn out too bad on the synthetic rubber got most of the engine detail i dont think i let it set quite hard enough but that is due to the fact that i must of not mixed the hardener good enough with the rubber if i do rubber casts again i wont use the hardener and leave it 16 hours On the tin it says 2-3 hours but we live and learn as for the Bonnet ,floor pan and cab i dont have enough to cast up so im hopeing i can buy some off DT for now ive got the decals BANG ON im realy impressed with them i just need the paint to do them now ill start casting the resin tonight then with the two types of chassis i will make a frankenstein chasiss to be acurate to the 90s model i want in 1/32 wheel base i will keep you updated in text until ive got a finnished product then post up the progression pics up to the final prototype wish me luck

IH885XLMAN
cheers F P just got to wait for the rubber to set as there is a little still soft as i painted the engine detail with the rubber from the lid (less hardener) so hopefully it will go off ill just keep checking it if i mix small amounts of the resin and its not enough to fill a mould can i just top it up after with a new mix on the set resin
IH885XLMAN
OK Ive just taken out two casts one DAVID BROWN 990 and one DAVID BROWN 1690 just the chassis they have both come out as good as expected the 990 could be used as a standen beet harvester cyclone it is realy that good im going to cast a few more then get a drimel tool and take the engine off the 990 and transplant it on to the then shortend 1690 chassis as the right fuel tank is on that model i should be able to do a 1594 out of the orgional chassis the 990 im going to play about with and try to make a selectomatic instead of a implimatic the ford 6600 mud guards should be easily modded for that job at a later date i will post up some update pics this evening

IH885XLMAN
I will be buying the bonnet ,cab etc in I havent got the resourses ,convidence ,dollers for that just yet this was the first time id ever done casting was easy but i could have done better if i isolated each master cast as you can see the mould is quite bad at the ends of the tractors the 990s rear and the 1690s front wieght but il learn from my mistakes
Tractorman810
its taken me 3 mould attempts, but found out the main prob was i was making them to thin on the sides,so when you moved it or tried to take it out they broke, this mould is a bit thicker, takes a bit more care to get them out,but have 2 done so far
