Valley Axe Man
Looks quite a sale there Bill, and quite a few interesting bits and peices up for grabs, one that caught my eye in particular interest was the Bray 4/65 sales brochure, as the Bray brochures for the 10/60, 4/65 and 384 still missing from my collection. Though it looks like it was the place to be if you were looking for any BFA And by the looks of it Grahams kept hold of his Classic Combines Models! Some of the outside lots don't seem bad, but can't wait for your results and pics of Grahams tractors  Thanks for Posting these up Bill, it appreciated
BC
It was a great sale Paul. I'm sure we can find out the price of that particular brochure from the head auctioneer Graham Burke aka pentland500 on here or i'll email Pete Small and see if he noted it down. Will try and get the tractors posted up this evening but only if its wet and I cannot get some ouside work done ;D
Valley Axe Man
Cheers Bill, that be grand, it's a bit wet down here too, Typical bank holiday weather or the norm as the case may be...... at times its that damp down here that even the pigeons have webbed feet!!
BC
I'm told by Pete Small the Bray broucher made £ 50 Paul...so the take mome price after commission and VAT on commission would have been £ 56. I really don't know if that was reasonable or cheap for such an item
Valley Axe Man
Looking at the general condition from your pics Bill, i'd have said it was about its money, it could have come down to Lancashire at that price

BC
Yes it was an intersting sale and I really enjoyed my away day looking and talking tractors and models ;D Well I like you Graham like the Nuffield's mainly because it would have been the first tractor I sat on and steered at harvest time after my grandfather was not fit enough for that task.I have driven a Leyland too ( L reg maybe a 272...I can't remember) but well reliabilty seemed to get worse when they changed from poppy ornage to the blue brigaide. BC
A general view of the crowd at the sale whilst I was waiting to collect my Border Fine Art purchases. Leyland and Nuffield row An input I think Some more inputs I was talking the buyer of those two engines...said he bought them for £ 40 and £ 30 which wasn't even the cost of an oiler or a magneto. They belong to two brothers who probably owned them for year. Laterly they were stored at the Transport Museum in Alford but they got a letter saying it was time to change them for something else. They had no option other than to sell and probaly they still have made money on them and it nice to see a colelctor getting a bargain once in a while. BC
Another general view of the crowd at the sale. On to the tractors and these are the hammer prices I noted down excluding 10% commission and 20% VAT on commission...so for every £ 100 bid you would pay £ 112. BC
Now the next one was an input and was bought by Vic Mathers from Kintore an avid David Brown collector. I personally would keep this tractor like this but someone has started filling the wings etc. I sure Vic will restore this tractor and he commented on the fact I ahd not been back to see the restoration of this 50D crawler. This one must now be in Aberdeenshire since my pal Stuart saw in going through Peterculter at lunchtime yesterday on a local hauliers lorry. This will be one I would like to track the restoration process. No 687 - 1947 David Brown Thresherman Tractor Reg No FFG 628 made £ 5,600 so the take home price would have been £ 6,272 The last 7 lots were a selection of horse ploughs but I wasn't so intereted in them so I did not note any prices down
BC
I saids earlier in this thread i was not going to cover the Border Fine Arts since it was going to be a supplement to a future Border Fine Art article in Model farmer magazine. Thanks for sharing though, its always good to see the results of an interesting sale In answer to your spot the mistake..... is it that there no exhaust on the e27n in the photo?
