North West Recovery

Sometimes we get asked to recovery the most unusual "vehicles", this one slipped off the end of the runway at Liverpool airport

You should have heard the panic in our office when Liverpool airport rang and said, "we have had a plane crash, can you come and recover it please"

God, I bet the office turned into a hornets nest didn't it, Mike?! Everyday's a new day at Hough Green by the looks of it. Every time Sally or Lynn mention a crash in the north west, I think of you guys. Oh are you watching Winter Road Rescue?

I haven't see that one Tris, I didn't watch Cop shows when I was in the Force and I can't really see myself watching a programme about recoveries, too much of a busman's holiday, I like to come home and forget the day job if I can,  just come on FTF and view tractor porn!

I personally prefer the other type of porn, but whatever floats your boat I suppose, have to say there's some quite impressive rigs at your work, don't see many that size around my neck of the woods, winter road rescue, quite a good watch aswell, love seeing the boys up in the real roads of Scotland clearing snow with there backhoes, clearing snows difficult enough without having miles of snow upto 5 foot deep and having a massive drop down the side of the road, hold my hat off to the old boys in there diggers

Depends if it needs unloading first, Bill. Last thing anyone wants is the load coming out the side when it comes over on to its wheels again. Still, from what we've seen of Hough Green I'd say they are more than geared up to sort this job out without any fuss. Looks like a first class outfit. Handy number plate for the company too.

Another unusual one today.

This was hitched to a tractor unit and had a load lifted onto the front end. The driver then unhitched to go for his lunch and the weight of the load bent the front of the trailer, maybe he shouldn't have put 20 tonnes at the headboard end!!

And then just because they were parked up together in the yard

Says a lot for the legs that they didn't collapse!

Poor old Scania looks like it was a straw lorry with that part over the top of the cab all that can be done now is get the burners out and cut the cab off it and turn it into a nice trailer :)
