robbo
Now that I have started to work with a recovery operator I can also start to post some of the wrecks that we get in for storage. As well as the recoverys we also store written off vehicles and machinery for insurance companies. One of the Insurance companies specialises in Agricultural machinery so we have a varied selection from time to time. We have had a 10 plated Agrifac sprayer in for some time Also we have a Claas Dominator 108 and Keenan diet feeder
robbo
Todays arrivals were a couple of burn outs that had to be lifted off with our Kenworth crane The came the biggest shame of all, a 61 plated Case Quadtrack
Deere-est
That Quadtrak will run again! What's with the Agrifac then, looks straight enough. Stolen?
Tommy Gough
That Quadtrak will run again! What's with the Agrifac then, looks straight enough. Stolen? I woundered about that, but seems a bit of light damage on the left hand side. Was it stolen and crashed? Watching that quadtrac go up in smoke must have been pretty heartbreaking for the farmer/owner.
Deere-est
That Agrifac has been rolled hasn't it?
robbo
Yes it has been rolled and has quite a lot of damage to the hydraulic system, still, someone has bought it and it will no doubt be reincarnated sometime soon :-
Deere-est
I had to have a second look but I thought it had. Must have been quite a fright for the pilot, it's a long way down from up there!
robbo
There's no front screen in it and the puddle underneath is hydraulic oil and, seeing as it it is hydraulically driven it doesn't go too far. One other thing, we have had 3 John Deere balers in recently, all burnt out. Is this because the pick up reel strikes sparks that ignite the straw or is there some other reason? Deere-est
Could be, I've not done a lot of baling. I have heard of packers striking flints inside the pre chamber of big square balers and lighting up the straw.

Ah yes, now I know what Im looking for I notice the screen has been smashed. Not heard about that happening in balers before but it seems like it could happen. Struggling to think of any other reasons but some others may have some.

Is it just too much weight hanging off the 3pt linkage that would cause that? Or combination of that and bumpy ground?
MuirHillyBilly
That Quadtrac looks like something I weathered There's something strangely sad about a majestic machine like the Dominator been laid to rest :'(
Deere-est
I wonder if the 82 had front linkage....? Did Stevey C lean on the tanker?!
robbo
Not Agri related but there are enough on here who like Plant and other machinery. This one was a brand new JCB being delivered, it had never raised a bucket in anger and the foot pedals were still shiny with no mud on them. I believe it hit a bridge in Lancashire. Deere-est
That digger got a hell of a thump to get the boom (which would have been secured) to go so fat back to hit the cab! A not very popular driver out there somewhere!
