The 10th B.A Stores Vintage working weekend is taking place on the weekend of the 18th and 19th May 2013. I have entered my 1957 French Farmall Cub with mid mounted mower and also my Ransome's TS42 single furrow trailing plough. I hope I can fit them both on the same trailer to avoid double journeys.

The show is always well attended by exhibitors, participators, traders and the spectating public and over the past 9 years Allan Brownie and his team of helpers have raised circa £ 30,000 for charities and local organisations. One of the best shows in Scotland in my opinion.

Website still on 2012 but it will give you an idea about the event

I picked up a flyer when I was in past BA Stores last week. It is advertised as the 10th Anniversary 2003 to 2013. I have attended them all since 2013 and have the polo shirt still from the first show in 2013. I have always said to Allan he is a year out with his shows but he just laughs and said the first one was just a trail. ;D   ;D

Well maybe but in my opinion this is the best weekend working day event in Scotland and is the highlight of all the rallies and shows for me be it sunny, rain sleet or snow...and believe me we have had all seasons at BA Stores over the past 10 years but that does not seem to deter the exhibitors, participants and the spectating public 8)   8)

Not long now until the show and I saw the advertising sign posts up at Mason Lodge this morning. I charged two batteries for my French Farmall Cub last night but haven't had much time of late to dig out my trailing plough so that would be going this year. I hope I can make it along with tracor and mower for the weekend but things are in the laps of the gods at present.

I had the day off yesterday and treated my Farmall to a new set of plugs and well she fired on the first crank. Lets hope she behaves this weekend. Weather wise it is not looking good for this afternoon but it is looking to be dry on Sunday, Anway all loaded and I had a run in past the show yesterday afternoon before I parked up at Kemnay.

Photobucket not working.

Well Sunday was a dry and warm day and even sunny in the afternoon. The car parks were full and it was good to see the spectating public enjoying the event as much as us the exhibitors playing farmers or crofters did 8) I only managed another five bouts of cutting before I broke a finger and two blades on my mower but hey ho that is what happen when the farmer does not roll his grass. I have new spare fingers and blades so that will be an easy fix and well I have another year to do that ;D  ;D

Rewind to a bitterly cold Friday afternoon at the show

G Nisbett form Glenbervie drove his 1959 Fordson Power Major with caravan over the Slug Road to the event and took him over two hours. His father has owned the tractor from nearly new.
