Stabliofarmer
I'm scratch building an artic and livestock trailer. The truck will be a Scania R580 6x4. This is what I've made of it so far:
Stabliofarmer
And this is the livestock trailer. It has 4 tiers, the middle tier is fixed and the 2nd and 4th tier will be removable. Here's what I've built so far: The ramps will work in the same way as the real one The ramp for the 3rd tier in lifted position The main ramp goes down Then the tail ramp goes down. Stabliofarmer
Bottom two decks Top two decks And finally the truck and trailer together. Thanks for looking any questions or advice are welcomed Also apologies for the picture quality
Stabliofarmer
Got a bit more done to the cab. I've now built the grill but not glued it so that painting is easier. The main problem is the two side curves either side of the grill are to wide but that's not to much of a problem. Here's the pictures: Still lots to do. Also its 1/32 scale if anyone was wondering. Thanks for looking

Deere-est
Very big project! You didn't consider buying the non RC Siku Scania lowloader and building a box on the existing trailer?

Stabliofarmer
Thanks,Yeah it is a big project. Thanks for the link tris id found them before but didn't like the looks of them so found these guys http://www.houghtons.com/en/ which I preferred the looks of. Id seen a conversion on here of the siku Scania with a box on the back but it didn't have the interior in the trailer. Not to mention the price 70 odd quid is way to much for me. Also its a 4x2 and I wanted something bigger so I'm building my own

Stabliofarmer
Thanks lads painted the interior now and made the back of the cab. Also added all the indents to the top of the cab. Hopefully my casting resin will come tomorrow and then I can cast the wheels and make the truck and trailer chassis

Stabliofarmer
Bit of an update on the truck. I've done a little more work on the cab which can be seen in the pictures but the main thing is I've started to build the chassis. I changed my mind on it being a twin drive 6x4 optining instead for a 6x2 tag. Unfortunately this truck wont have working steering or a lifting tag axle but future builds hopefully will do. Also I've casted wheels for the truck. Now I'll let the pictures do the talking

Valley Axe Man
Still looking good James, looking forward to seeing a bit more. Do you have plans to build some more??? a 6x4 would be a beast for a timber trailer on haulage duties
Stabliofarmer
Still looking good James, looking forward to seeing a bit more. Do you have plans to build some more??? a 6x4 would be a beast for a timber trailer on haulage duties Thank you and yes I plan to make a few more trucks including a few volvos and possibly a classic scania. It's quite likely ill make a timber trailer along with a curtain sider, bulk tipper, woodchip trailer, wagon and drag and a bulk blower feed truck but I'm not sure how much of that ill actually get round to making
Stabliofarmer
Some more work on the Scania. Got a coat of primer on the main chassis but then added filler so it was a little pointless spraying it. I've started work on the bottom half of the cab but it still needs tidying up. Also turned up the wheels on a lathe and drilled them. They aren,t glued on yet but are just sat in position. Here's the pickys
Stabliofarmer
A few shots with the Trailer on. No further work has been done on the trailer and the wheels are just sat under it. Thank you for looking and all comments are appreciated
