Tractorman810
recived my two today, ones staying standard for the collection, the other however was subjected to 45 mins of altering as i really wanted uh to do a 2wd like the prototype pics we first saw, using a uh 390 front axel i sourced, which required a small amount of cutting ,then drilling out of a new rod to piviot on , i was going to fit different rears, however i found once assembled, the cage wheels i want to use on it would not fit diameter wise they were to small plus the axel rod inside was to fine to allow a good grip by the magnets, so i have resorted to uh 1200 wheels , which i can also fit a set of dave twose dual tyres to if i want ,so sort of get two for one i guess
Tractorman810
found the front weights remove very easy and the mount is part of the body cast ,so ideal really the cage wheels that will eventually go on/off, also need to adjust the bonnet to sit better onto the weight frame, have found the rear of the bonnets sloped to match the origonal rake, so i need to sand it back till it fits properly lenght wise and angle wise
WillTEF20
Prefer it alot more with the 2wd axle and the weights removed. Is it just me or does the bonnet look okay-ish with the new axle?
Tractorman810
its deceptive mate, it has been raised and leveled, but it sould be a tad lower so the grill sits back on the weight hanger properly, but i cant do that till i sand the angle of the back of the bonnet as it just wont allow it to sit right ,if you look hard enough theres a 2mm odd gap at the front and its a little to far forward because of the angle, i have also added a tiny spacer over the rear axels where the cab meets, as i felt the rear arches had a backwards slope on them ,may have just been that modeli recived, but they just didnt sit right?? I know what you mean about the gap, a few of the ones on here with the bonnet levelled up have a big gap between the weight frame and the bonnet which doesn't look right in my opinion. I look forward to seeing how this turns out
Paul Palmer
nice sean,do like the 2 wheel drive
Tractorman810
its only a small sand back mainly to the top rear edge, so with luck no repaint required, it goes to show how far out uh got the bonnet angles ,whilst right overall, they way they sat it, and made the back edge does need a small bit of work to get it right , its not huge mind, and something any member on here can do with ease ,which sort of makes it better ,intrestinly mind, all the pics on the dealer box are of the 2wd model, and all with the same 1200 style wheels, so how it eneded up like this i guess we will never know
Tractorman810
down side of this is, i now need to make the single axel 6 ton brian legg traielr i used to haul on it, plus a 3rd is required for the other model we had, but thats a 4wd anyway, so just wheels and air filter to sort on that nice sean,do like the 2 wheel drive

Tractorman810
they will be removable when finished mate, ones done, have only just found this one after one of the cats removed it to play with from my board, we found it while decorating the other week, a good 6 months after i lost it  , may well make a set of tyred duals the same way, as we had the center handle wind out ones on the farm, not the long rod type like these That looks fantastic Sean....and those cage wheels too. Niels
Looks a lovely model so far. With the cage wheels it's ideal for drilling or rolling. Did you build them yourself or bought them from somewhere?
Tractorman810
cheers neils, the cage wheels came off german ebay a while back, basicly laser cut kits on a sheet of plasti card, pop the bits out and glue, will have a look in the history and see if i saved the seller, as i was going to get some more sometime for the layout, they did two different diameters from memory to

Tractorman810
cheers neils , and pat, wont be making another as i dont have a front axel, or rear wheels either now, the last set i have of the rears are going on the 4wd 698t i want to do , used to really enjoy driving that, being a short wheel base one it was as good in the yard as the 165 or 2wd 690's, and whislted away on the turbo when baling
