powerrabbit Posted May 9, 2013 Share Posted May 9, 2013 You could try what I have done in the past with Britains lead gates and posts hinges. Drill a tiny hole in both the gate and the hanging post where the old hinges would have lined up, cut a short length of brass or steel wire of the desired diameter to fit tight in the drilled post and bend to a right angle to form the hangers, push into the drilled hole after applying a spot of super glue in the holes. For the gate, use the same brass or steel wire and with a small pair of pointed nosed pliers form a ring eye one end of the wire and fit into the gate end the same as the post. Deere-est Posted May 12, 2013 Share Posted May 12, 2013 There are hinges ready made out there from aircraft wings, I can't for the life if me remember the name of them but I have some.... in the attic! There are two or three different sizes and types, grey plastic.
