Volvo FM Straw Truck

Recommended Posts

This is another truck I've been working on. Resin Cast cab and mounting board chassis and body. Its based on this truck http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikealaska/8100110920/

Next to the Scania

Also merged two trucks, A cheap dickeys Mercedes and a cardboard Volvo that I had made a while ago to form this unit.

Then all three together

Now a question for you. Both the Scania and Volvo unit are named after famous Scots, the Scania being Sir Jackie Stewart and the Volvo William Wallace but I need a name for the flat bed. I was thinking Colin McRae but do you have any other suggestions ?

Once finished I plan on making a drag to go with this truck too.

Thanks for looking

There all looking very good, there seems to be a lack of 1/32 lorrys it would be nice to see more :)

Are you going to make the trailer for the straw lorry aswell?

There certainly is a lack and I'm sure if Britain's or UH brought one out they'd sell like hotcakes, Yes I'll be building the drag for the lorry once its finished :)

Jim Clarke.......racing driver. I'd liked to have seen him race, a natural I believe, sadly long gone

Robert the Bruce

That's definitely a competitor, Remember reading a biography about him and it seems he was a supreme driver

robert the bruce !!!!!!!

Mel Gibson..... :ha ha!:

Though I do like the Mad Max films and Robert the Bruce is certainly a Scottish icon I think I'll follow with the racing drivers and have Jim Clarke and if I build another Colin Mcrae

Decided this needs a revamp
I used a different resin to what I normal use on the cab for this truck and it didn't work as well as hoped so first thing is a new cab. Then a fresh paintjob which all my trucks will be getting, just with a slightly less loud orange.

As you can see the paint hasn't stuck so well in some areas so this will get touched up with a brush.
Thanks for Looking
