rich's power bogy unit

Recommended Posts

I could do with a straw like that to dislodge a power bogey of me own.  :D :D

Good idea RichMcNewHollandDriverJDMADman. Couple of nice extras on the trailer too, I'd be bricking it to even consider doing anything to one of Doc's trailers. Better paint that ladder before he see's it!!

One of the carrot companies round here has one which was made by a local engineer. It's a double drive lorry bogie on trelleborg wheels they pull it with a JD6920s with loads of weights on the front, mind you a tri-axle vegi bulker loaded with near on 30ton of carrots takes some dragging round a wet field :o :o :o :o

i think the main time they were used were in the late 60's early 70's to power large implements like the first type powerharrows and large forages so a small 60/70hp 2wd was used to its maximum potential by powering a bogie with a much larger engine to save on the cost of a 100hp 4wd as the small tractors were used for lighter duities when not on the bogies.
